Sorry ole buddy gotta disagree with you on this one. It's the way these things were settled back in the day. I can't tell you how many Saturday nights in Montreal followed by Sunday nights at the Garden were things were settled from the night before. No Shannahan, no BS, they fought and it was done. - OLDSCHOOL#6
it should have been handled then and there, to do it on March 30 will show that the retaliation was planned and subject teams to suspensions. I hit him legally every chance you get, if he responds, then you beat the living tar out of him. My comment was meant to mean don't do anything illegal or in my opinion, you are just as bad of worse than the offender.
I thought he was scratchin' not standin' - jimbro83
He had been but he's playing with Wisniewski right now with Johnson out. He looks to me to be coming around and playing with more confidence at this level.

You and me are old school, dude. I totally agree with you. I'm not saying head hunting but Lucic and Pacioretty both know they have to answer.

Lucic would laugh at any Ranger who attempted to fight him. Did you not see him dust Prust last year? And that's Prust who despite being small is one of the best fighters in the game. Asham maybe could hold is own but I have NEVER seen Lucic lose a fight.
But in this game its not about winning the fight but the fact that someone is "willing" to drop the gloves. Willing to say, this must stop, liberties will no longer be accepted by this team. A Captain sometimes makes that sacrifice, but in no way do I want to see Cally fight Lucic.

Was Lucic's hit on Nash anything other than a good hard body check?

Lucic literally runs around the ice like he owns it, against all teams. He made a laughingstock of the Sabres last yr with what happened with Miller in that collision & him just smirking afterwards.
But to answer you're question, it was a clean hit, clean & hard.

I agree. Lucic no. Patch yes we should go after if Mac is out. And by "go after" I dont mean head hunt. But after every whistle he is near the net he should be shoved, corss checked, face washed. The whole bit.

Lucic hit him lower but finished up high, thats the problem people have with him, ebverything is up high and its more the way he finishes checks than it is being dirty. This goes back though to the principle point of contact rubbish...a player should be responsible for his body and actions all the way through the check. These guys hit legally but finish around the head like Neil did to Boyle, but b/c he didn't hit his head FIRST he doesn't get suspended...the whole hit the guy with his head down has to stop if they are serious about head injuries...the NFL doesn't even allow them when players are vulnerable...isn't a hockey player looking to control the puck looking down vulnerable?....that whole mentality has to change...

I think it was shoulder to head against the glass. Nash didn't like it. Not saying suspension worthy or out side of normal play but you have to send the message that it will not be tolerated. Remember Gabby fighting Carcillo? I don't want stars doing that but someone has to.

I sacrifice Bickel. He'll hold his own. At least it's showing some balls

I only ask, because good hard body checking is a great part of hockey. I have no interest in the Rangers going after Lucic for a clean hit, and not to mention, it would be a losing battle. But, go hit Tyler Seguin the same way. Good clean hits against our best players, get repaid by the same agains theirs.
The cheap, dangerous shots like Pacioretty's require their pound of flesh, however. Let the guy drop the gloves on March 30, and if he doesn't pound him into the ice. He can turtle for all I care. If he has honor, he will drop them, fight, and be done with it.

In hockey terms it was a clean shoulder, I just wonder if even shoulders to heads will be deemed illegal here, the one thing for certain is we can't try to legislate everything physical out of the game, injuries are going to happen...

Bick could make it interseting, hell the kid is good for nothing else anyway. I don't think the Rangers have had a scrap in the last 10 games or so if I can recall.

I just watched it, and his shoulder was nowhere near his head. To your point about physical play, if you take that type of hit out of the game, i.e., good clean hard body checking, you might as well make these guys skate around in skirts. It was a straight up clean hit, unlike Pacioretty's. Lucic is just a beast.

I don't disagree, you do have to be careful. Lucic does tend to be up high with a lot of his physical play, that being said I'd kidnap him and force him to sign with the Rangers as a UFA if I could...
Just watched it again myself...it was totally clean...actually turned the game for them b/c right after that they scored and the Rangers haven't really been the same since...blowing leads, etc...

I only found 1 video of it the contact was clean and hard but right at the end Lucic brings the forearm up to Nash's head and runs it into the glass. Thats the part that I'm talking about. If there is a better video I'd love to see it.
I tell you right now, if Chris Kreider wants to play, he needs to shoot the frigging puck.
I didn't realize it until checked this morning. He has played 10 games, 5 shots on goal.
FIVE.
C'mon, what happened to that kid who took the puck in the playoffs and just blasted past Holtby? - jimbro83
I'm hoping he succeeds... I already have his jersey .... My friend got me a jersey for being in his wedding party, and he asked my girlfriend "what jersey does he want?" And she said "he's always talking about the Kreider kid so how about him!".....sigh, at least shes listening to my rants
