just because no suspension doesn't mean he got the call right. Or do you believe every suspension handed down or not handed down by Shanahan is correct? Regardless of what he ruled, are you going to tell me that the players have the right level of respect for one another and the head shots are being handled correctly? - airjan23
League hasnt gotten a call right in years, and haven't stuck to their own rules much either, kinda we make up the criteria of suspensions as we go and especially by the name on the sweater, if it's a plug throw the book at them, top 6 player gets a slap on the wrist... |

Carp has it right though, I wonder what the league would have done if McDonagh had 'Crosby' on the back of his shirt |

Moen but he didn't go in the crease, Biron was way out trying to cut the angle (from what I remember). - Symba007
yeah, that's not worth making a big fuss about. |

zzzzzzzzzzz. He is a big boy. I dont think he's affraid of anybody. Been hit be the most dangerous player of the league.

Honestly I didn't think the McD hit was as bad as it looked. Both players were skating toward the puck along the boards there and sure, McD leaned on him a bit but I didn't see an obvious shove or push. To me it looked more like McD's momentum carried through and helped Pacioretty's face hit the boards. That was a lot different than what Pacioretty did. Just my opinion. - Glen Miller
I posted the link, that hit was nothing. If McDonagh was a wiener like Pacioretty, he could have ended his night and possibly longer. He let up |

Would have been suspended indefinitely if that was a superstar getting hurt.
Love how inconsistent this league is. |

Do you not think calling for the NHL to discipline the situation only highlights the true nature of the problem? This year's version of the Rangers is a very soft team. There would have been a major brawl if what happened last night had taken place last year.
But, Tortarella is still coaching like he has a bench of grinders that can handle the rough stuff. Something has to change. Either get Tortarella the players he needs, or get Tortarella to change his game plan or change the GM and/or coach so that things are put back into something more in line with what they are able to do.
I just don't understand the logic of wanting to encourage high end players to block shots. Like hooking a race horse up to a plough. |

Pacs hit was dirtier than Hags hit on Alfie by leaps and bounds, the NHL is the biggest joke out of all sports, it's pretty dam obvious the league does not like the NYR and would not like it if we won the Cup, there is o defense for leaving our feet, making primary contact with the head and driving into the glass. |

If nothing else, this play simply highlights the truth of the matter that, hitting with the "head as the primary point of contact" is simply not a play the league really intends to crack down on.
Clean hit, dirty hit, borderline hit, it doesn't matter. The head was the primary point of contact and was intentionally driven into the glass. I guess, Shanny's goal is to find enough "grey area" to allow plays of this nature. |

French players are loved when they play for the Habs and hated when they play for another team, even more a division rival. |

I think Rangers/Habs is probably the most boring rivalry in the NHL. The games are tough to watch |

Didn't used to be like that a few years ago. This year though, it's about defensive play. |
