If Pit adds Iginla and potentially Jack Johnson, you might as well hand them the cup now.

even with those 2, i still think chicago and boston are better teams |

if the flames do decide to blow it up....which would obviously be the case if they move iggy.......what would it take to get bouwmeester to ottawa?
i'm assuming that they'd want bishop in any deal, to eventually replace kipper....but what else?
bishop, stone, 3rd?
gives calgary 2 very good and young palyers, plus a pick, and frees up over 6 mil in cap space. gives ottawa a good 2nd line PMD to play with cowen.

Colin Dambrauskas: Sidney Crosby and Jarome Iginla?...Yikes. - Colin Dambrauskas
Being a Bruins fan, I would give up a 1st and any prospect other than maybe Subban because I don't consider Hamilton a prospect anymore. The Bruins have so many regulars signed long term, their is a total log jam for younger guys to make the team. Even next season only Ference, Horton, Rask are due contracts.
Is that enough for Iginla? A 1st and basically any prospect they wanted? |

Personally I think its too much. That would be fair 3 years ago. Buts his stock has gone waaayyy down. And they are not going to get the return for him that they're hoping. |

I still think he walks as a ufa after the season. If he is traded, when do you think they should do it? He might not be the only winger on the market. I really think Perry will end up being traded, small chance that Kessel is traded, and there are probably others. If they wait to long then Pitt might go out and pick up a Perry instead. |

yes they will. i'm pretty sure that everyone realizes that, on a good team, with legit linemates, and not ALL the pressure on him, iginla will likely thrive again.
if crosby can turn guys like kunitz and dupuis into legit offensive threats, he should be able to get iginla to compete with stamkos for the richard trophy |

LOL. You don't think Iginla is worth a 1st and a prospect?
He won't get what he was worth a couple of years ago ,, but he is worth a 1st and a good prospect.

pitt can't afford perry, unless they just bring him in as a rental and let him walk at the end of the year.
in order to resign him, they'd need to let go of a lot of roster players, and basically run with 2/3 of their defense as rookies next year.
won't happen |

I was just saying last night to a buddy that wouldn't it be cool to see Iggy playing with Crosby and/or Malkin in the playoffs? - whipper334
Disgusting. It would be Disgusting.

Sounds like a jaded assumption. He's been .8ppg -1 ppg over the last four years including this one and he's considered one of the most consistant scorers in the league... not even taking into account his leadership. His stock is just as high but he is not getting younger. |

I agree but if he does leave I hope he gets a cup. I think Pitt and Boston are his best 2 chances. |

He should be worth that if not more.
The real problem is the longer you wait the less in terms of proven talent you'll get back. I don't know what Feaster actually thinks, but if he's against the blow up he seems to be a guy that would prefer getting a younger player that is already in the NHL. Problem is as you approach the deadline teams are a bit reluctant to move players that can help them in the playoffs.
Is Buffalo desparate to make a move to make the playoffs now? Does something around Myers make sense? |

Would Iginla be more useful on the first line with Krejci and Lucic, or on the 3rd with two hard working faster players that just can't finish? |

Not yet. There are only 2 games I believe he hasn't got points. |
