This team will be lucky to make the playoffs, they don't have "it" this year. Id love to see them in the off season trade away some bad contracts or buy them out and find or create competition for the openings that would become available on the roster. If Booth goes, let Jensen/Schroeder/Gaunce slug it out in camp for a 2/3 line wing spot. If Ballard goes, let Corrado and Conaughton play it out in camp for the 6th D spot. Young guys will create more inner competition and energy, not overpaid guys that play because of the contract despite not pulling there weight. As long as this team doesn't trade away prospects to get better short term i'm ok with that. Keep signing college UFA's too. |

Not surprised anymore. They're just not a good team. The captain is playing his ass off though, wish the team would follow.
Fire everyone. |

I agree, at this point I'll be pissed if Gillis gives up draft picks in a deep draft or tradea away a good prospect just to try and save his and AV's asses. Just let the season play out, and if the losing continues then trade the expiring contracts. I'd only go into buy mode if this teams suddenly turns it around and if a goalie can be moved instead of a good pick or prospect. |

Don't hit, don't block shots, don't win face-offs, don't score...yeah that'll get you a loss. |

Of course it was sarcasm, but honestly the Canucks aren't an exciting team to watch right now either since they really lack skill outside of the top line. That's why these games seem more boring than in past years, as the Nashville fan said the other day " it takes two to tango" and the Canucks are just as dull at the moment. - Nucker101

Thing is that the trade deadline is in roughly 2 weeks. We'll still be in the running for the NW division by then so in that regard nothing will have changed by then that isn't true right now. From where I'm sitting ,our only realistic trade avenue that could net us a decent player to help now would be Schneider |

Can't argue that right now, but I'm just talking about unloading the bad contracts if they can plus the expiring contracts. Teams get crazy at the deadline since there's only usually only about 5 or 6 legit sellers and 15 buyers so it's a seller's market. Paul Guastad got a first rounder last year, I could see a contending team paying a nice price to acquire a guy like Raymond. I don't see Gillis selling though and as bad as the Canucks are playing, theys till have a legit shot at the division since Minny isn't exactly an elite team. |

Basically since last year's deadline, starting with the Hodgson trade, plus letting Ehrhoff and Torres walk before that season started too. And now Salo last summer. It's okay to get rid of those guys, but you have to replace them and Gillis hasn't. |
