Daniel hasn't scored in 9 games and is on pace for a 24 goal season over 82 games
- VANTEL

Also, his shooting percentage is the lowest it's been since 2005-06, which means that he's due for a few goal now if they bounce back to career normals. Henrik is also making up for it a bit with a couple of extra goals ahead of usual pace. How many legit 80 point players are there in the entire league? You'll be surprised to see how few.

Not my first choice, but better than Ruff, and most of the other available coaches.

Not super familiar with him.

I really liked the way Mac-T handled the prospects. He demanded accountability and defensively responsible play, and it showed in many of the prospects improving their defensive game while he was there, yet they actually liked playing for the guy.

- Fosco

Michael Stuart wrote a bit about him and I also read an article about his success at all levels as he's worked his way up. IMO He's going to be a great hire for some lucky team.

You do realize assists count as points, too, right?

They are both nearly a point/game, and they've always been players that will have a stretch where they go a bit quite, and then pick up their points in bunches.

Been that way for years.

- Fosco

Assists count?

Well then that changes everything , have to re-calculate

Agreed, if AV were fired right now then Mac-T would be my pick as well. I wonder if Gillis is waiting to see if a few coaches on the hotseat (Torts, Laviolette) will become available before making his move.

Do you think Mac T will leave a managememtn position with a team that he has spent most of his career with for a head coach job here? I don't

Laviolette would be a great pick since he has like a year shelf life where he has the Midas touch and turns a team around and then his teams tune him out and he gets canned. I would love Torts, just because I hate the media here so much. Cooper is still my pick though, I just hope that a team like Edmonton doesn't hire him.

Regardless of what we'd do on the ice, the pressers would be epic pretty much every night.

He also went from 36 to 29 to 31 to 41 to 30...

Seems like it's pretty standard that the goal totals fluctuate.

So by your definition, any player that doesn't maintain or increase their goal totals is in decline?

Like I said, the Sedins notoriously score in bunches, which makes taking a 25 game sample and extrapolating a full season out of it an extremely faulty measure.

They're both sitting close to a point/game—couple of multi-point games and they're sitting pretty.

Obviously they've had their share of struggles over this stretch. It's a product of the entire team struggling. To say they're in decline is a bit of a stretch.

And as Nucker said, his shooting percentage is also down—couple of the close misses take a lucky bounce, and he's back where he should be.

The Sedins are not the problem. Basically the rest of the lineup is(outside of Hansen, Raymond and Burrows). Did Prock hack Vantel?

My worry about the Sedins is the amount of extra abuse they seem to be taking this year. Somebody should start taking a count of all the crosschecks to the back they take in a game. No other line consistently puts fear into the other team, so shut down the twins = shut down the Canucks.

Honestly, if this powerplay could get off the ground, they would be back among the league leaders.

Totally agree, my back would be broken with all the cross checks they take along the boards and in front of the net. Plus they have to carry this team offensively right now and like you said, every other team knows it so they go all out on the Sedins.

AV needs to go, but no coach can turn this current roster(no secondary scoring, too many LHD's) into a contender.

Why should we still go for the cup now?
There are so many problems with this team so might as well start from scratch

No way this team can win a cup right now. But at the same time, I'm willing to bet anything that they won't become sellers.

AV is the reason this team has no secondary scoring. Misuse of talent & zero clue about offensive chemistry is why this team can't score.
