Mac T maybe. The rest? I'd rather take a frozen puck to the groin... - Zoolander

You don't think Schneider will ask for at least Luongo $ cap wise next contract? So a savings of 1.3 mil for a couple years is negligible. The question is will Schneider be as good if not better than Lu in the years to come. If not, we get way more trading Cory than Luongo now. It's a gamble either way. - Zoolander
Of course he will... only difference is he'll deserve and earn it. He wouldnt be struggling this year if he wasn't being jerked around. |

Those are all retreads. I'd rather hire a guy like Cooper or Eakins. - Nucker101
1st time NHL coaches have lessons to learn. Very rarely do you find a guy who is capable of success in his first opportunity. A guy like Mac T (who IMO did a lot with a little in Edm, then did a great job in Chicago with our youngsters) is a perfect next step coaching option for this group. |

That's the million dollar question isn't it? Everything points to Schneider being a great goalie the only thing he has to do is prove it. Not a great situation for either goalie right now but either goalie would improve, in my opinion, once the other is traded. |

Are you joking?
AV and his ego have been mis-managing this roster for years.
I suggest you remove your nose from his ass and open your eyes... - Fosco

So Kesler, Booth and Bieksa haven't been playing and that is a valid excuse for not hustling on and off the ice
Yaaaaa riiiiiight!!!!
This team could lose every night but if they're hustling, I'm somewhat ok with it. - IanEsplen
oh ya, i forgot. it's the coach who is supposed to 'motivate' players.
perhaps this is a personnel issue |

Question for everyone: Gillis fires AV now or in the near future. Who do you replace him with? - AlexF
A monkey? Definitely do a better job.
How bout VANTEL? |

People laugh but so far I am closer to my prediction that most are here. I said Minny would finish 3 rd and Canucks would finish 9 th or 10 . I think they lose again tonight.
You can blame injuries if you want , but it is just a continuation of how they finished last year, and the goaltending is not masking the problems this year. |

That's just it. You can't blame it on injuries. Ottawa has a significantly worse injury situation and has more points in a tougher division. It seems like no one can take ownership of their problems. Claiming the play is a result of other teams improvements. It comes from the top down. I get frustrated when av simply says this is where I saw us being based on increased competition. All that means is that the team came in unprepared and didn't do their preparing the team in the off-season. |

A simple question to ask to understand the Canucks problem is " Who is our second line?" . We could ask the same thing last year. That gives us the answer of where is our secondary scoring. That has to fall on the shoulders of MG
Playing Schroeder on the 4 th line , and pulling the top goal getter off the top line falls on AV. There is plenty of blame to be passed around on this team but that is the main problem , the coaching and the roster.
Sportsnet asked the same question last night , is the Sedins and the Canucks window closing fast. I said the other night ,they have two more years of being above average. SN threw out the same number. Canucks would make a huge mistake offerning them a new Doan like contract . |

Like you've been saying a pretty big shake up is needed with this team and it starts with getting rid of the idiot coach first and foremost. Then you need to trade a goalie and the only one who will get you some offense woth anything is Schneider unfortunately. I like the fact that they have drafted and signed some big prospects with offensive potential like Jensen, Gaunce, and this Kellan Lain kid. Players who have size and skill are needed on this team. I would love to get Bjugstad from Florida as well.

I think they need to trade 2 LHD also, otherwise we have a 5/6 Dman making over 4 mil.
Making tweaks will do little . They need a couple of bold moves.
Changing AV will do little if Raymond or Higgins is your second line center. |

I would fire Gillis. Seriously, who has he brought in since he became GM that has made an impact?

Our best defenseman? Who could be considered the teams MVP over the last three years. It's no secret the Canucks folded when Hamhuis went out in game in the SCF. I love other fans coming in here and asking "what has Gillis done" "who has he brought in" Dude, is he supposed to trade the Sedins, Kesler, Edler, Luongo, Schneider and the entire team top from bottom because they weren't his players? It's called asset management. If you didn't notice it's about winning. Not to mention he signed all of those guys for below market value. How many GMS sign all of their own players below market value? He has made suome blunders but a lot of what he's done is behind the scenes. |

Ehrhoff. Then he let him walk for nothing, but they did offer him a contract. Couldn't compete with Buffalo's mad man owner though. |

These are the only players that I'd consider NOT dealing if I were Mike Gillis;
Henrik
Daniel
Burrows
Hansen
Hamhuis
Tanev
Bieksa
Kassian
Everyone else should be up for offer! |

We got destroyed on faceoffs. That's a huge problem. We need Kesler back to win some of those or we need to bring in a centre who can actually put up 50%+. |

Everyone else has been riding their coat tails for way way way too long. I dont want to deal good other guys like hansen but you may have too. Get rid of booth get rid of ballard. too bad Gillis didnt package up Schneider and hodgson together last year could you imagine what we would have got when schneider and hodgson both had huge value wow |

Yeah that was huge last night. With Kesler out and Manny retired we've got a serious faceoff quality issue. |

If the nucks lose tonight, which they will, there has to be changes made tomorrow before they go on their next road trip. Our playoff position is slipping away but with a couple of tweaks, I can see this team getting back up. ONe of the goalies has to go along with AV. |
