We got destroyed on faceoffs. That's a huge problem. We need Kesler back to win some of those or we need to bring in a centre who can actually put up 50%+.
- micah555

Well the Wild are ranked 2nd in the league in faceoff%. Vancouver 27th. All four Wild starting centers are over 50% in the faceoff dot. So I think Vancouver was already at a bit of a disadvantage to start off.

Trade everyone except for the sedins burr kes and maybe higgins and hansen for forwards
Then bring up some of our young guns like jensen and gaunce to play on the third line to give them experiance now
Heck they could play well and could go on the 2nd line
For dmen we need to trade ballard and garrison or edler
Too much cap on dmen
Cory needs to go because he will get us a better return

Edit: We all know AV needs to go.. Get a coach who knows how to coach and a coach that plays the kids

When we went to the finals we were tops in the league in the dot. Last season, we slipped to third. Special teams alone benefit so much more from winning the draw, let alone the rest of the game.

Number 1 thing the Canucks need to do is bring up Jim Vandermeer.
Then Fire AV.

About as comfy as those glasses you're wearing that are so Canuck-tinted you can't tell how far your head is up AV's ass.

Wake up. There are several problems with this team, and the coach is at the forefront.

Vandermeer has been a plug. Can't even hack it in the AHL.

What has changed so much with AV that everyone all of sudden wants him canned? I mean c'mon 'Nuck fans, I realize that you've been spoiled the past few seasons with 2 Presidents trophies and a trip to the finals, but surely you can't expect every season to wipe the floor with the rest of the conference.

I think you guys got itchy trigger fingers in a season where your team just lost 1st place by 2 points for the first time since the first week of the season. Plenty of time left to get Kessler and Booth back and make a run. Don't freak out at the sign of a few bumps in the road. Just sayin it's a bit early to be calling for heads and counting your team out.

It seems like the perfect storm is happening in Van. Gillis has gotta be feeling the heat. A couple injuries, neither of our goalies are shining, scoring down, defense is struggling, special teams has been horrible, face offs are near the bottom of the league...

The list goes on.

And what are we doing about it? Blame it on injuries, yeaahh OK. Wait for the ship to right itself, well it might be 2014 before that happens.

Gillis has gotta do something, and you don't have $10mill to throw at an ex-client.

Will Gillis:
- do nothing
- fire AV
- get fired
- bring in some vets for picks
- trade a goalie

My guess is that he brings in some vets, we'll be out in the first round, and lucky to be in the show. When up against the cap, Gillis doesn't seem so powerful.

We watch the games and he continuously makes stupid decisions.

My biggest issue is his inability to change the game plan up, when the opposing team reads our game plan like a book. We have seen it with our special teams, and 5 on 5 play.

Teams play the Sedins a certain way now, after studying tape. Teams play us and often a game changing goal is because of adjustments the opposing teams coach has made, while AV keeps sending out the same troops to do the same thing.

The GM is guilty, as well, mostly because he began accommodating AV, who started running this team into the ground years ago. Gillis brought in talent, and AV failed to use it properly, which has now put MG in the place he's in.

AV's been outcoached in nearly every playoff series; he's alienated a long list of players in his tenure; he's failed to use countless players properly, and some he's even forced the GM to ship out and then not use the players he got in return; he preaches accountability only from certain players while others consistently are off the hook for equally poor play; his roster decisions are absolutely laughable, and some are clearly driven by his ego...

That's just off the top of my head...

The coach is at the root of the problem.

The majority isn't always right, but when you're in the vast minority, which you clearly are, it's time to start thinking about who needs to "wake up."

So what is so different, talent wise, from past years? This is basically the same team that captured back to back presidents trophies. The only significant change is Garrison in, Salo out. The GM has provided the same talent this season yet the record does not reflect that.

Torres, Ehrhoff were not here last season, Samuelsson was coasting, Malhotra started the season and played all of last season. How about you name more than a few, because those few are not significant.

Sorry, bud. I've been watching the Wolves games, and Vandermeer has been far worse in the AHL, than Alberts has been in the NHL.

Did like what Vandy did in the line brawl, though. They could definitely use that attitude, but he's been outplayed by every other D on the team. Wouldn't be surprised if he finds his way to the ECHL.

I liked it, I hate our team right now.
