What are the chances Vancouver trades away some bigger name players to get a rebuild going? It's looking more and more like they're going to need one, especially with a tough division next year. - bluecoconuts
Rephrase that to a re-tool and even than it might be a little too much fantasy. This team is still extremely strong, with a goalie to trade. If we were looking to re-tool there's three players I could see being moved, but it's not gonna happen. Luongo, Kesler and Edler. Luongo for Bjugstad, Kesler for Myers and Edler for Couturier.......... |

Well yeah, I guess a re-tool would be more accurate. |

This will not be a popular post , but our PP has been dry because everyone knows what is going to happen. Forty five seconds of the PP will be controlled by the Sedins passing it back and forth leaving an actual PP of 75 seconds. Hamhuis does not have a great shot nor does Shroeder or D Sedin from the point.
I think the Sedins should be split on the PP and have Hank on the first unit with Raymond or Burrows and Kassian Garisson and Bieksa
Second unit should be Kesler Daniel and Hansen Tanev and Edler . |
|
|
|
So if Booth is gone for a long time then he can not be bought out during the summer |

We've adopted your drop pass in the neutral zone, and nothing frustrates me more. It's so predictable. |

Yep that is why Canucks have trouble scoring what ever happened to put a big body in front of the net for a screen or a tip and blast it from the point. We have become to European with the style of PP . Too many passes . |

Stajan is a center which you need, he would rank 3rd on the Canucks in points and 2nd in plus minus. This all playing on all 4 lines. Booth has one goal empty net and is gonna be bought out. Stajan>booth this why you would be giving up a prospect. Maybe not Jensen but that's why I threw in the pick. if we threw in iggy instead you would have to add a lot more then booth Jensen - Redmile247

He is listed as day to day on TSN, is there something new? |

MRI tomorrow I believe, them we'll all know more. TSN probably just being cautious until then. I had Havlat in my pool and he was listed as day-to-day for weeks. |

Our players if we put no limits on we could get all the prospects for the oilers and have some room for more. A rebuild isn't neccesary well have one bad year not make the playoffs to get a high draft pick like before naslund bertuzzi and morrison times then slowly rise back to the top, but thats 3 years from now. |

I get that Luongo still has much value, but Bjugstad has the potential to be a beast in the NHL, not sure Florida would be doing themselves any favors by trading away a top prospect(2-way center) with his potential and size for a Goalie on the down slope of his career not to mention the contract they'd be taking on. Obviously Bjugstad will be unproven until he decides to leave Minnesota, but I still think he's to valuable even as an unproven commodity to be traded before he even steps foot on an NHL rink.

Ya I can't see them trading Bjugstad. He's their future second center but someone equal to his value as of now. |

I could be wrong but I think there's a two year window. It was just accelerated this season because of Gomez and Redden. Anywho, I dont think Gillis would buy out Booth, he'd trade him. |

Don't get me wrong, as over achieving a trade as that may appear, Vancouver would look pretty damn good with a pony like Bjugstad in their stable. |

This is all correct. I'd do Booth and Ballard for Babchuck and Stajan |

You are crazy. Stajan is softer than butter, and nowhere close to worth his contract.
Even in spite of the Canucks need for a C, I would not trade Booth for Stajan straight up, and there's only one player on the Flames I would be willing to trade Jensen for. |

Seriously?
You would want Matt Stajan and his 3.5m cap hit on the books for the remainder of this year and all of next year? Andrew Ebbett has been much more productive for 600k. |
