Many owners don't. Many gms have full control
- Bieksa#3

I'm sure any owner in the league has veto power to nix a trade. Most likely trust their GM's judgement, however.

Not likely. You don't have the assets to grossly overpay, and that's what it would take to pry him out.

Ballard's a #1 on any team. Ballard, Raymond for Iggy?

I have a feeling something along the lines of Schneider, Hansen, Jensen, Gaunce, Corrado and a 1st would get it done, but it wouldn't be worth it from the Canucks perspective.

Kypreos and Valk think we should add Jagr...I personally think he would be a great addition if the price is right.

Agreed. All depends on the price, though.

I'd rather one year at 3.5 then two more after this at 4.25... And no ebbett has not been much more productive , but rather much less. Look at the stats then comment
- Redmile247

First of all, my comments were hyperbole as Andrew Ebbett is anything but a quality C in the NHL, but since you are such a keener on statistics, here you go.

Matt Stajan:

GP G A P +/- PIM PP SH GWG S Hits BkS GvA TkA TOI/g
REGULAR SEASON 26 3 14 17 +11 16 0 0 1 30 31 27 11 14 17:33

Andrew Ebbett:

REGULAR SEASON 8 1 2 3 +1 2 0 0 0 9 5 5 1 0 12:20

TOI/goal: Stajan - 152:12; Ebbett - 98:40
TOI/assist: Stajan - 32:37; Ebbett - 49:20

These numbers that you are so fond of certainly do not show a $3 million difference in play. When you combine goals and assists, Ebbett is more productive, scoring wise. If you would rather have Stajan at $3.5 million for one more year than Booth at $4.25 for two more years why on earth would you suggest this as a trade?

That's a distinct possibility, but if the Wild put up 12 I would bet the Canucks get at least 7.

So you're saying you want to see a 12-1 score for the Wild, eh?

Good job with the stats lol I don't want booth but figured salary wise you could use the relief and a center , it's not like these two teams would ever trade with each other anyways.
Stajans ice time is not only offense based either, he gets a lot of defensive shifts be it pk or end of the game when your leading. I honestly can't believe I'm actually saying good things about him tho lol a year ago I couldn't have imagined lol

Agreed. All teams have spent a lot of time on either side of these missed calls, but Canucks seem to be getting screwed more often. It's become quite a problem for the NHL.

They put a stat up on the screen a few games ago, and the Canucks had been on the PP the least in the NHL, and it was by a fairly large gap.

It had been better the last few games, though.
