We need to make a play for Bernier or Bishop.

If Nilsson's disease is possibly reoccurring and Poulin can't recover to his old self this is bad

Our only hope would be Koiskinen (who I playing really well from the reports I hear)

He's from Long Beach, he played at U of Maine. Weighs in at a pants-wetting 5'7'' 170lbs.

Correct, if we trade Nabby, then we have to ride out Poulin & maybe thats what we should do to see if he can be an NHL goalie.

Nilsson is the real friggen deal, but until we know what is going to happen with the guys life we cant make plans around him, if they learned ANYTHING from the DP situation they need to treat Nilsson as a non factor and if he comes back from this all, then we have deal with a goalie log jam... but if he never comes back from this.. at least we have some kind of fall back plan.

Kosk I have always loved & I have said he was going to be better then Poulin & maybe better then Nilsson.. get him back over there & let him be the starter in bridgeport so we can amp up his progress.

In the mean time... Yes, yes, yes Bernier, Bishop, or id even get involved in the Luongo-Schnider talks.. Goaltender is the most important position on the team.. This rebuild has been built around DP... is there any surprise where the rebuild is at this point?????

If we do not get a goaltender & Poulin cant handle this.. then we are going to be right back where we were the last few seasons with DP up here "trying" to be the savior once again.. we need to move away from that option... far away.

I mean he's 24 years old & he hasn't really proven anything either... But I have a better feeling about Bernier making it, then I do Poulin & as much as I love Nielsson, we cant pin our hopes to him...

The media isn't there to crucify him for not winning. Actually, the Long Island media knows the Islanders fate so well, they are more sympathetic than anything else.

"The media" knows better than to criticize the Islanders publicly....ask Botta what happens when you call them out for sucking or question their methods.
Maybe they'll start serving cookies & milk at the post-game and everyone can pat Cappy on the back and tell him, "don't worry...you tried....you'll get em next time."

X I think it's time to move Nabby and see what Poulin can do. Playing once a month is not going to cut it. I'm all for brining in Bishop or Bernier. I agree about the DP option. We need to get the goalie position fixed aldready. If healthy I also think Nilsson is the real deal and Kosk shows promise as well.

I would add more for Bernier. I feel comfortable he can be a #1. This is why we have prospects not just for Isles but to make trades to fill holes.

I posted a few weeks ago the Islanders need 6 players....a center, 2 wings, 2 defensemen and a goalie. They have some prospects like Nelson, Strome, Reinhart and maybe Nino to fill some of the holes It looks like they will need to go outside the organization for some of the other spots. I think a goalie like Bernier, Bishop would be a great start.
