I don't really care either.

But let's be real, if this was a hit made by Henrik Sedin you would be crying if they deemed that a suspension.

Everything is rainbow colored when looking through your own teams glasses

I just think that basing a suspension on whether a player was injured or not is dangerous. Edler is suspended because Smith is "injured" and Nash is not suspended because Kopecky is not injured.

Do I think Edler deserved a suspension? No. Do I think that Nash deserved a suspension, No, not really, but not suspending him because Kopecky "turned" (like its partly his fault) and because there was no injury is bad for the game.

I live on the Island, you gotta have a truck, how else do you get all your junk to the dump? But in hippy, islander fashion, if I could have an electric truck I would

EDIT - just noticed your location, remember when Iggy came to Calgary? It turned out pretty good for you. Circle of life, hopefully you can get a prospect that turns out to be as good when they deal him.

I agree with you about using injury. To be fair though, Nash wasn't suspended because the hit itself was not a hit to the head.

People just want to see things that didn't happen so they have something to chirp about. The Lupul hit was dirty, he deserved to be suspended, but I guarantee that Leafs fans have the Maple Leaf goggles on and see something else.

It's just the way it is. Fans get blinded. I was living in Vancouver when the Bertuzzi thing happened. You have no idea how many Canuck fans I met that said it wasn't a dirty play. And actually believed it.

Edler wasn't a hit to the head either, even if Smith gives it his best "whiplash" effect. If Kopecky doesn't return, I bet Nash gets a game or two.

I haven't seen the Lupul hit, so I can't comment. I was going to reference Bertuzzi/Moore when talking about injury, and how one players career was ended (and life forever changed) by a sucker punch while others get away scott free because the player gets up and skates away. Bertuzzi got what he deserved, unfortunately, the rules for head shots weren't in place then, because Moore should never have been in the lineup.

Bertuzzi was unlucky... Moore faked it.... Leafs won't make the playoffs.

On to the LA game tonight, while they are only 6-4 in their last 10, LA has only lost 3 games in regulation at home this year. They also have the 10th ranked PP and 15th ranked PK. They also have a positive goal differential of +13 compared to the Canucks at even (83 goals for and against). If I was putting money on the game I would pick LA, 2-1 in regulation, goals by Carter and Stoll, Hansen for the Canucks.

I dunno, I think Bertuzzi was pretty lucky, he accomplished what he set out to do, he's still playing hockey (well, almost), did he have to pay out of pocket or is the civil suit still ongoing?

So no malicious intent results in a 2 game suspension but trying to take someones head off means no suspension?
