There aren't a lot of other options. And his salary is gone at the end of the year. If the cost is reasonable, he'd be a great pickup.

...or is he a "pillow biter"

- Fosco

Another soft/gutless/diminutive addition is the opposite of what we need. If there was an NHL stat for Pillows Bitten, he and Purcell would both be Top 5.

I can't believe when you suggested Franson Reimer for Luongo that you forgot to include the 2 firsts and a second...

We need some new defencemen the most. Ballard looks like he's trying to play forward.

We don't need Roy. Truthfully Schroeder is starting to show some skills . He has made a great play 3 games in a row. Maybe we don't need someone elses crap.

Raymond Schroeder Hansen look decent.

If we are going to make a run for the cup, someone better than Schroeder is a must. I l;ike the kid but he's not ready to carry the load, bring him along slowly......

They need any top6 forward they can get—they're not in a position to be picky.

Nobody is saying sell the farm for him, or give up anything of considerable value. Just that he's one of the better options out there, if the price is right.

It's not easy to land "what we need" when the team doesn't have the assets to acquire the ideal player.

Exactly, no need to give up picks or prospects for a rental like Roy unless it's good value. Let a young guy like Schroeder play top 6 if he keeps playing well. Not saying that Roy sucks, but he's not going to turn the Canucks into a legit SC contender IMO. I would onlyconsider it if it doesn't involve a first round round pick or top prospect.

Boyle would be a nice bottom 6 player, but I have a friend who's a Flyers fan that says that he takes shifts off and is barely noticeable some games.

His 7.5 million dollar cap hit through next year is the problem. He gets injured quite a bit too, and IMO he wouldn't be on the first line here since he scores off of the rush and that's not the Sedins style of game. Hisk risk, high reward move.

2 hits and 2 blocked shots a game 6'7 third line center . I will take that. We can use him today. He was a beast in the playoffs.

One year risk. And his real estate agent likes it here.

Fair enough, but I bet that the TDL prices will be ridiculous once again, especially for a top 6 center and Dallas will want a good prospect or a first round pick as part of the deal. I'll pass on that right now.

Depends on the price. I think the Rangers would definitely be willing to move him.

Yeah, I wouldn't be against it depending on what the asking price is and if he can fit under the cap.

Rumours (taken with a grain of salt, obviously) are that a 2nd and mid-tier prospect would get it done.

Obviously a 1st rounder is out of the question.

Agreed.
IMO van needs a guy who plays both the wing and center. Vorecek was #1 on my wish list last yr, but now that won't happen. Steve Ott, Bale Wheeler etc
