Would you trade the Flyers 2013 1st round draft pick, Nick Cousins, and Brandon Manning for Jarome Iginla?
- KGBflyers10

I wouldnt trade that for anyone

I havent read any of the previous pages but if it didnt already happen i would like to say the Pens are the new "dream team". Hopefully that works as good as it did for the Eagles.
- Stinkfitz

It'd be nice to see them fail. And if Fleury plays like he did against the Flyers, they very well could fail.

is this season worse then 07?

- mydoglicks

No. I don't think so.

I feel like there is a kernel of something good here (young forwards) whereas that year was, as Bill and JSaq have said, a clear case of the Flyers trying to win a previous year's Cup.

This year feels a bunch of hunches by Holmgren that were played and he didn't hit on any of them and it cost the team greatly in a shortened season.

I'm not saying status quo is the way to go (I've been pretty vocal about Laviolette), but I think there is more to work with here than during '07..

I think the addition of Vokoun will prevent that.. If Fleury has a bad couple of games they always have Vokoun as an option.

I think the Cap is going to go up a lot after next Season. It will go back into the 70+M range after next year.
- MJL

I agree with you on the cap going up quite a bit after next season. I think next season would have normally been higher as well except it was written into the CBA that way in case the fans didn't come back as strong as they had hoped... Hence the whole buyout inclusion.

I don't think they wait on the Briere buyout. His cap hit is just too huge with the cap so low for next season. I think they hold onto Bryz though...
- FlyersGrace

Anyone know how bad Briere's concussion is....Maybe Boston looks at him again now that iginla got away and thery were publicly punked....assuming he is healthy

for me, yes. why? because there's a lot more talent on this team than that amalgamation of puke, coupled with the fact it's coming on the heels of a lockout. this whole (frank)ing thing has been horrendous since last april when they were embarrassed by the devils. none of the offseason moves panned out. injuries. growing pains with youngsters, lack of weight being carried by vets, a coach who's not adjusting....it's (frank)ing horrible.

As long as you don't want to cry when somebody criticizes your opinions by attempting to use logic and reasoning.

It's mitigated more than last year, but Vokoun's been spotty in the playoffs himself-and honestly this season, too

So he isn't an upgrade over Gervais, Foster, or Gus?

Could have tried him out for the rest of the year to see if he's worth keeping. We need D help. I'd rather Murray then the bottom pairing we have atm.

- Flyersgod

Giving away draft picks for a mediocre, 33 year old defenseman when you have no chance of making the playoffs would be insane.

I'll be honest. Even without the concussion, Briere would be very difficult to trade.

Well that's probably what Calgary would ask for, and that's what the poster didn't understand--you have to give up assets for these players--it makes sense if you're trying to make a playoff run, but for a team like the Flyers it makes no sense for 15 games.

What was Meszaros' injury history before he came to the Flyers?
- PLindbergh31

What does it take to get Meszaros out of a game? A torn left shoulder labrum ended his 2008-09 season in February and snapped his streak of 298 consecutive games.

I agree, but you cant tell me that Boston is seeing what Pit is doing and doesnt have the feeling to do some counter attack move.....especially shipping toolbox jones off to the islanders and freeing up salary space
