Bill, it seems odd to me to have a coach like Murry on the farm that seems to be the complete opposite of Lavi. It makes no sense to me to have your ahl team playing the complete opposite style than the big club.
And the biggest thing missing on this team is real leadership. Nothing against Roux and the other guys but since Pronger has gone they have been a mess.

Short sweet and to the point Bill... Yeah not sure I want to predict anything tonight. They enjoy pounding on the Islanders but with our recent play I don't know who shows up. And with our defense looking like fishnet thigh highs I'm not sure how we are going to do tonight...

Why? They're still the better team. - bradleyc4
I don't think anyone is disagreeing that the Bruins are an awesome team this year. I think it's more the disappointment of the sure thing being hyped up and then not happening... I wish he had gone there. I'd much rather see Boston get him than the Penguins...
wow a D with Foster, Gervais and Gus....hmm perhaps its time to shut down Timonen soon, let him heal up for next year and go with Lilja.
The above should guarantee a top 3 pick!! - BiggE
It would be nice to have the Pens problems. They are stacked in the farm team.
The biggest factor that made the penguins trades possible isn't the picks, it's the quality youth in the farm system.
The Penguins have a alot of quality young defensemen (unlike the flyers) that they could afford to trade a top defensive prospect (1st round pick). Can you imagine the day where the flyers could afford to trade a top defensive prospect and have it not affect the depth of the farm team, let alone the big club?
Having a quality farm system, something the Flyers have neglected, is essential to maintaining success and keeping the cost of trade deadline deals down. The Penguins really didn't give up that much, draft pick wise for what they are receiving.
Joe Morrow would be the #1 prospect in the entire flyers org. For the Penguins, because of their depth, he was a bargainning chip they could afford to part with.
Even after trading away players the Pens farm team is miles ahead of the Flyers. That is something the Flyers have needed to address for years. Unfortunately being "all in" every year and making sure every asset is either on the big club or traded away has put them in this position.
To stay on top for years the Flyers need a steady pipeline. Something they don't have.
