I hate that we suck this year, but this team can be likened to the Habs last year. Look at how getting their top dman Markov back has helped that team. I think the young core is solid, and Bryz has been just fine IMO. We get a top pick, a top dman somehow, and I think we are back in business. Homer can't strike out this summer on replacing Pronger..however. - Hextall271
The Habs have some flat out speed up front, and their fast guys are skilled and can finish, unlike the Flyers speedy guys like Harry Z and Wellwood.
Also the Habs D top to bottom are a whole lot better handling the puck then the Flyers D.
What you point out is true, they have two big shots from the point with PK and Markov.
Flyers desperately need that #1 guy, Kimmo could be the puck mover on the second pair for one year. In 2014 the Flyers need two offensive defenseman (or one if they get one in the off season this summer).
Homer has a lot of work to do. |

So what's the Easter Bunny bringing you? - PLindbergh31
Coburn playing 2nd pair minutes and PK, not the most minutes in the toughest situations every game, may help.
Plus getting a five man team defensive scheme that works, and better help on the breakouts team wide. Coburn has the tools to succeed in the right role. He is never going to get many shots on net, but he has shown he belongs in the league.
Other then that, a Cadbury Creme egg. |

Guaranteeing the Flyers a top 2 pick is easy.
The Flyers new powerplay is:
Grossmann and Lilja on the points with Wellwood, Harry Z and Rinaldo down low.
The new pk is:
Foster and Gervais on D with Knuble and Hartnell up front
The new starting goalie is Brian Boucher
Top 2 pick is now a given. Thank you and please come again.

Flyers have to be one of the worst breakout teams in the League. I hate it. Such a lack of any creativity on the part of the Coach. |

I don't think its creativity as much as its the gap between the forwards and D being about 2 miles. Its been an ongoing problem under Lavy and it as much as any reason, is why I want to see him fired. |

What do you guys think about the Brent Burns to the Flyers talk?
Isn't he a converted winger playing defense? |

I think that creativity is a huge part of it. They are always going up the wall. LA used a center breakout and rode it all the way to the Cup last year. Forwards came back deep for short high percentage passes, and then had options from there. Every team that the Flyers play, attack them along the wall in their own zone. Because they know where the puck is going. I do agree that the Flyers forwards cheat out. Laviolette loves the stretch pass. |

He's a physical specimen, for sure.
It would all depend on what they give up for him. I"m not sure I'd give up a roster player that I care about for him.

I'm praying that it is just that talk. Same as any talk with Byfuglien. No thanks to either player. |

I know this is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic, but I don't like these lines:
FLYERS
15 Tye McGinn - 28 Claude Giroux - 93 Jakub Voracek
19 Scott Hartnell- 10 Brayden Schenn - 17 Wayne Simmonds
12 Simon Gagne - 25 Max Talbot - 24 Matt Read
26 - Ruslan Fedotenko - 14 Sean Couturier - 36 Zac Rinaldo
Switch Couts and Talbot.
Don't like McGinn on the top line.
Read or even Gagne is better. |

in depth and revealing... blew my socks off
Philadelphia Flyers (buyer): GM Paul Holmgren is looking for a blue-chip defenseman. Potential trade asset Danny Briere is out with a concussion. |

I knew this would happen... - jak521
Don't you know that it's a truth that only systems and team play matter? I'm just stating a fact here. Sure it's a fact that Pittsburgh gave up players in their system who aren't, in truth, top-notch prospects, as well as a late first round draft pick. And sure, Iginla's one of the best goal scorers ever. these are just more facts that I'm right about. But it's true that Boston's system is better in fact, which is true. So really, the truth lies in the fact that Boston getting or not getting Iginla or Morrow in their system has no bearing on whether or not they will be any better or worse. These are facts. I'm right, you're wrong, suck it. |

It sort of worked with Pronger.
If Prongs didn't have a good forward option he would send a 75 ft slapper right on goal. |
