Are there any defensemen that are facing a potential buyout that the Flyers could use on the cheapish? |

His team has won more playoff rounds than all but one team in the past ten years. That's a pretty nice positive - Jsaquella
wow that's heartbreaking |

None of them. I make a trade. The UFA crop is all older(over 35) or going to be really overpaid(Hainsey) |

good luck w/that |

I know this is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic, but I don't like these lines:
FLYERS
15 Tye McGinn - 28 Claude Giroux - 93 Jakub Voracek
19 Scott Hartnell- 10 Brayden Schenn - 17 Wayne Simmonds
12 Simon Gagne - 25 Max Talbot - 24 Matt Read
26 - Ruslan Fedotenko - 14 Sean Couturier - 36 Zac Rinaldo
Switch Couts and Talbot.
Don't like McGinn on the top line.
Read or even Gagne is better. - Marc D

Lavi is going to send Couts, Feds and Rinaldo out against Moulson/Tavares/Boyes and its going to work as well as it did against the Nash line and the NYRs on Tuesday. |

I have a weird feeling Homer is going to end up trading for Joni mini stick for his encore with the Orange and Black.
I guess stranger things have happened.

Well, they have brought back players before. Jody Hull had 2 magical runs with them. Sim, Gagne, and Knuble have all come back. I'm convinced that Boucher just asks for extended leaves of absences between his Flyers' stints. |

I'm willing to bet Briere is fine by the end of the season. It is much better for him financially to be bought out and become a free agent. He is only scheduled to make 5 million in actual salary the next to years. If he gets bought out, he gets around 3.3 million over the next 4 years, plus I'm pretty sure he will get at least a 2 year 5 million deal from someone. So basically if he gets bought out he will probably make an additional 3.3 million. - BiggE
I read this too fast and thought you were implying we had to pay him 3.3 mil every year for the next 4. But I get it we pay 2/3 of his total salary for the remaining years. So 3.3 mil total. Then he gets to go in for another team immediately...
I'm slow today.
But I agree I think he forces us to buy him out. Good guy or not 3.3 mil is worth it (alimony or not). |

Likely: Kaberle, Komisarek, Ballard
Possible: Jeff Schultz, Tallinder, Sarich, Liles
Ballard and Liles are still useful. The others, not so much. |

•Renaud Lavoie: There is lots of interest in Max Talbot, but the Flyers are saying he “not available.”
I'm not shocked that teams are calling for Talbot. He's been one of our better players and at a reasonable cap hit. |

Talbot's reduction in goals/offense aside, I think of Talbot as being part of the solution to turning this around.....not part of the problem. |
