bernier is the next truth because he's played a dozen nhl games

foligno and ennis were buffalo royalty for a small string of games last year. no one wanted to give up ennis for the hypothetical BOBBY (frank)ING RYAN trade. seriously?

buffalo wins 3 and they are "a playoff team" and lose 2 and suddenly they are like the worst team ever. i literally have read/heard people say "this is the worst hockey team i've ever seen." REALLY? the worst hockey team that isn't even the worst THIS SEASON in THEIR CONFERENCE?

pysyk is our best defensemen because in 12 games or whatever he hasn't (frank)ed up that much.

I agree with everything you said. I think a lot of it has to do with how desperatley we want a winning team we are sick of the players that we havent won with here so we are looking for the next great thing. Pysk has shown he has potential but last night brought him down to earth. Next its going to be he is garbage too. Its just a big cycle here. Until there are major changes here its going to be more of the same sadly.

He really should be worrying about the fact they are hanging on the hip of a 37 year old goalie (who didnt want to report there in the first place). Yes the Islanders have a good young team but if they dont get their future goalie figured out soon they will be back in the basement very quickly

meh, i think theres a huge disconnect between how easy we think winning/getting a winning team should be and how hard it actually is.

its disgustingly easy to sit here and criticize darcy and the lack of moves, or the silly contracts, or not rebuilding earlier, blah blah blah blah.

everyone likes to sit in the forums and throw out how we'll get bernier, or how there was an ovechkin - miller trade at the deadline, or how brennan should have gotten more than a 5th...

but face the facts, obviously winning an nhl stanely cup is HAAAARD. look at the last few years.

kings were able to have a ridiculously talented forward core because of an outrageously good young goaltender that hadn't gotten his pay day yet.

boston won basically on the backs of tim thomas, who played an outrageously irregular year and officiating.

the blackhawks won with a perfect combination of up front talent, great draft pieces, and a weak eastern conference opponent. flyers miracled their way into the stanely cup.

pens have 3 top 3 draft picks, and still had to take a few years to develop them, AND the stanely cup had to take place before they handed out monster contracts. and they needed two tries.

its a perfect combination of talent and luck. if all you needed was a good team washington would have won a cup or two in the 5+ years they were dominate and so would san jose and vancouver.

hell so would we if we had a even 1 of our starting defensemen back for the carolina series.

I know what you mean. Look at last year and the Kings. They had to fire their coach and they had all that talent. Fact is a lot of pieces need to fall in place to win the cup. You need to get the right matchups have to stay healthy and all of that. Thats why there is nothing like the Stanley Cup playoffs.

I have been fine with this team losing because by trading Pominville we have admitted to being bad and needing a rebuild.

Agree, if Terry would have come in and rebuilt right away, I honestly think people who have hated him. Hed become known as the guy who traded away each and every player people love for years to a guy who just got here

Yeah, but it was LQ who let go of CD and DB, not DR, and certainly not LR. I suppose you could blame TG in addition to LQ, but why doesn't anyone give any love for JM? I guess the other person we should hate is KL, in addition to LQ and TG, because he forced TV down our throats after walking away from CD and DB, thus, we had no choice but to take it ATM.
