Wow a short handed penalty shot goal for Portland, don't see that often.

What do you guys think of Brayden Schenn's season? I am disappointed, more than Couturier. He has played top line minutes, been on 2nd pp unit. I see skill of course but I notice that he does not have particularly good vision for a projected 2nd line center, and invariably loses 1-on-1 battles on the boards. He lacks lower body strength, which you also see when he gets into fights and gets yanked around. He is also an erratic defensive forward and has taken a bunch of dumb penalties in the offensive zone.

I wonder if trading him will make his brother revert to the funk of his Toronto days.

B Schenn is too young to make any kind of definitive judgement on, but I would rather they trade him than Couturier.

Then we can get a draft pick and wait until he's 21 and trade him away for another pick!!

C'mon. Referring to Luke and the fact that splitting the brothers up might have a negative impact on one or both.

8 days until the 2013 Draft Order is determined, right?

Eight days until the Flyers know their lottery position. Final draft order will depend on lottery outcome and playoffs.

Just stand pat with the young kids. I know we need a dman. If anything. Trade read even though I love him. The simple fact is he's 6 or 7 years older than schenn.

Yo Bill,

Always enjoy your blogs and am consistenly inspired by your clinical level-headedness when time are good and (in the case of this season) awful.

But I was especially impressed by your willingness to help out one of your readers today with Hammarby's trip.

I think you both will be pleasantly surprised with the willingness of people to help one another out!

And good luck man, represent the USA well!

Send defenseman Braydon Coburn and a 2014 first-round pick to the Nashville Predators for the fourth overall pick.

Send the No. 4 selection and a pair of third-round picks to the Florida Panthers for the top overall pick.

Next, send the top pick to the Colorado Avalanche for the No. 2 selection and a conditional 2014 third-rounder, on the condition that the Avalanche would take MacKinnon, leaving the Flyers to get Seth Jones.

Edit: Not the Thrashers.

No way any of the teams are going to accept those deals. If they did, the GM's of those team should be immediately fired.

I've mentioned Risto before..I'd be fine with him...he hasn't really put up huge points at any level but the converted forward (like Pulock) has the skillset to produce....I know the finnish leagues are more defense oriented, and he has seemed to step up production in international play...but I just add a risk point or two for being a euro....north american game blah blah blah...we each have our lists I guess. Right now mine has Nurse and Pulock just ahead of Risto. Honestly, I'd be delighted to get either one of the three.
