NHL system is a joke. The worst team should always get the first pick. How else will teams like Florida get out of the cellar. It's not fair at all. Congrats on the other hand. jones will look good there.
Do you guys think its a sure thing it's Jones? |

I really don't think the difference between 1st and 2nd pick should be the difference between a franchise's success and failure.
See: Oilers, Edmonton for details. |

Great fit in Colorado, between him, EJ, and Siemens, you'll have a very good set of defensemen on the back end going forward, to pair up with Varly, Duchene, Landeskog, Parenteau and O'Reilly.
The talent is there at the top end, Avs just need to round out their roster with depth and they'll be a playoff team. |

Its a 100% sure thing, we desperately need a Dman like him, and the whole story of him learning to play hockey in Denver, advice from Sakic when he was 5 years old.
Part of me thinks it was rigged as well for NHL marketing to crap out of that story, but whatever Ill take it |

Well the Panthers are going to be drafting one of Drouin or Mackinnon, if they choose Mackinnon then they will have an insane 1-2 punch of Mackinnon and Huberdeau which is very similar to what Pittsburgh has. Or they draft Drouin and he ends up playing with Huberdeau which will also be insane. This is a draft where it isn't the end of the world if you lose the lottery and fall a spot in the top 3.
also it looks like the Avs will finally get EJ a partner lol |

No way should the worst team always get it. Just what the NHL needs, teams tanking at the end of the season during important games for playoff/borderline playoff teams. |

That is exactly the mentality I hate. It encourages tanking to get a pick and no fan should want their team to lose. If a team is in the cellar, it needs to make smart management decisions by making good trades and through free agency. Also they need to have management who are able to get value out of draft picks. I honestly think the last ten teams in the league should have an equal opportunity to pick first overall. |

Only way I was going to think the lottery was rigged was NJ winning it since they just won it 2 years ago when they moved up for Larsson and since the draft is in NJ. Or of course if somehow Pittsburgh's logo showed up in the #1 envelope |

It is fair.....the rules are outlined for all teams prior to the draft, so it's not like they weren't aware of the risks in the draft or like they've been cheated. Besides, if the worst team automatically got the #1 pick, teams would be tanking to get a better spot......Now, I know, I'm a hypocrite, as I'm an Oiler's fan, as our team tanked for three (or more years now) and got three #1 picks......While I'm not complaining about our three #1 picks, I do think the draft system needs an overhaul. The bottom 14 teams who miss the playoffs should all be weighted, and have a draft for all of the top 14 picks in the draft. Not only will this be more entertaining for the fans, but it'll prevent teams (like my Oilers) from tanking for a higher draft pick.....Either way, the Panthers are going to walk away with a franchise player, so buck up and enjoy the pick. |

It wouldn't even be close to what Pitt has. Huberdeau isn't going to be a leader or captian that Crosby is. He probably won't even be the player Malkin is.
Drouin is the best forward in the draft hands down. He's the closest prospect to Pavel Bure I've ever seen. His speed is insane and scoring ability is amazing. We NEED Drouin. MacKinnon is overrated, it will be Florida's pick 100% because all the Panthers do is draft busts up and down the draft.
Jone's father played for the Nuggets, of course this is a PR fix. Florida gets fuccked... |

Can't say that since they never played an NHL game. No pick is a 100% lock. Jones on the other hand is the closest thing to a lock. |

Fair enough, I get why you're ticked off....All I'm saying is that you guys still have the #2 pick, in a very deep draft. Whether or not your scouts are good enough to select a future franchise player is now the question. Still, the chances of your team getting a very good player is excellent. Be happy with it, and hopefully it'll work out....I know I'm happy with our #7 pick. There are a ton of players this year that have a tremendous upside, we're going to get ourselves a fine player as well. |

Florida will get fuccked again once they vote for rookie of the year. Huberdeau only lead all rookies in points playing on an AHL team. He'll still get overlooked... |
