Wel the way you describe him maybe it should be Edler + a 1st for Read - JAKEw1234
Ha. No, if you want Edler, that's about the deal you need to make. I'm just telling ya it's a lot more even than you might realize. I think most of our young roster players are going to do well. The question is always is it going to be with us or someone else. |

Also, as hard as it is to final that elusive D the Flyers are looking for, I would try and get Ryan Pulock. He may not have that all-in-one quality, or true shutdown man, but I think offensively, the Flyers could get a home-run type of player for their puck-moving and PP units. - Flyers_V88
The Flyers have an overabundance of Shutdown d men anyway. We could use some blue line offense. |

And all of the factors involved need to be considered. If they trade Read for Edler, that's exchanging an 800K Cap hit for a 5M Cap hit. Buying out Briere, covers that. But now you're down two forwards. Two scoring line forwards. Briere plus Read equals 7.3M. Minus Edler's 5M. That leaves you with 2.3M to replace two top forwards. That's not even taking into account the hole you are already in with the Cap going down to 64.3M. That is why a player like Read is so valuable to the Flyers at 800K. Even if he only has one year on a deal left. The flip side is that they desperately need a player like Edler. Choose your weapon. |

Fully agree. It's just a matter of priority on needs at this hypothetical point. I would expect a player to be signed in that price-range, and for another forward be given the chance to play on the roster. Draft Pulock, buy-out Danny, and see what else can be done via minor trades or signings. |

Big time, which is why I like Pulock as a choice so much. Nurse, Ristolainen, or Zadorov would be ok, but Pulock is my shoe-in choice. The man can blast a puck too! |

That is certainly an option. One they might be forced to do. |

If they use Read, Mesz, Coburn, and B.Schenn and picks as trade bait they should be able to get a nice #1 dman like Edler and a nice 1-6 oman...Plus, using the pick to get someone like Pulock will give the d some young talent... |

I think the "lack" of development... He had heavy expectations on his shoulders before he even got to the NHL, as being deemed the true shut-down man from that first round. |

Thx, that solves that one. You guys interested in a true shut down D man? Mr. Mike Komisarek is available at a very low price! |

But if you add Edler, that will allow you to trade either Coburn or Meszaros which will add 4 million to that 2.3 million. 6.3 million should be enough to add a second and 3rd line player.

Brayden Schenn is going nowhere. The only players I can see being moved, or up for consideration are Meszaros, Coburn, and Read. |

It was about guaranteed top-line time and PP time. We more or less gave that to him when he was here. When it came to resign, we couldn't guarantee it to him, so he went to Dallas where Joe guaranteed it to him. I could see him back. I hope. |

I didn't say trade them all, I said they are the assets that can be traded...Whoever gets traded should net a nice return...Don't forget that... |
