Stick with the forwards and move one for a d-man. If they are great there why mess with a good thing?
And WTF? 3 blogs for me to read? |

They'll need to replace Brayden Schenn with another young center, as he'll be wearing a Canucks sweater, but they'll be ok on defence with Alex Edler manning the point back there. |

Great article. Prior to the final 1-2 weeks of the season when it looked like the Flyers would be picking more in the 6-8 region, I was on board with BPA and at the time it appeared to be a forward more likely. Personally, this made me feel a lot more comfortable as you can see by the track record you listed. Then you'd use the young forward depth to acquire a younger d-man. Now sitting at 11, BPA would appear to be a d-man. Now don't get me wrong, I'd be thrilled getting a Ristolainen or Pulock there, I just question how the team will bring them along.
In the end, ya gotta go BPA.
And thank you for avoiding the Bryz subject |

I almost wonder if the Flyers will try to move the pick for a youngish dman who can help immediately like an Edler/Yandle (though I don't think it's likely) or maybe even like a top-prospect dman. |

I don't see why they can't....Read, Coburn, Mesz, picks should get the job done... |

Word is that Vancouver wants to add size to the Wing. I still don't buy that they are willing to move Edler. |

I could definitely see that happening. Any idea if Yandle's asking price has come down at all? Or if last year's rumored Schenn, Couturier, ++ was even close to true? |

I would assume if Schenn+Couturier was offered it would have been done.
I suppose a lot of things will be made clear if Tippett moves on this season, that might change their style. |

The point I’m trying to make here is that whoever is scouting the QMJHL and OHL forwards is a bloody genius, the Flyers scouting staff have an unbelievable track record with forwards in the first…but they truly need a major defense prospect. - AdamFrench
Simon Nolet is the guy that really pushed for Giroux and Gagne.
BTW, as the 'Yotes blogger, and having followed him for years, I'm sure we'd all love to hear your opinion on Bryzgalov. |

I always felt he was a good goalie who used his size and blocking style well, but thrived in a system that had defensemen push forwards outside and let him deflect rebounds to them for quick outs. He never could play the puck, but neither can 90% of the goalies in the league these days. I don't know about the Flyers these days but I always felt he was one of the safest goalies in a one vs one situation at least when he was a Coyote. |

Sounds about right... Flyers haven't done a great job dampening the quality of scoring chances and eliminating 2nd-chance-opps, so the limitations of his style have been tested to put it lightly. He's also somehow lost his confidence in 1-v-1s/breakaways.... |

Is it going to matter who is in net if they don't fix that? |
