Hagelin's reaaally underrated. His underlying stats are great. The ice tilts in his favour whenever he's on. He's undersized, but he's one of those depth wingers you need.

Staal is really the main thing, and if his peripheral wasn't up to snuff, then it's a bad deal. Kreider and Hagelin are additions and nothing we don't already have plenty of. Honestly I'd actually take the pick out completely. Even more honestly if Staal isn't up to snuff then kill the deal.

EDIT: Kreider does have the size but asides from his initial playoff appearance has been a huge letdown.

A 23YO one year removed from being 16th in league scoring + the 7th overall pick in the deepest draft in a decade= 2nd line centre. I just don't even know how that thought process goes down

if you're specifying top 6, it means that they able to play in a scoring role, not that they are so proficient at it that they are better than RNH. Maybe say a 1st line C, and even then he wouldn't be playing ahead of Nuge.

I would have to think by looking at the teams in the top 5 that A) they will not want to make the Oilers better or give them a higher pick, and B) I would have to think it costs way more then that to get into the top 5 but that is just my $0.02

This is the craziest thing I have seen in a while. Here are my 2 cents. No team in the league is WORRIED about making the Oilers better. Boston, Chicago, La maybe even the Pens. I don't think Barkov instead of Linds or Monahan has any team adjusting their lineups in order to face the power of the Oil.

Also giving 2 first round picks to move 4 spots is an over payment in my mind after the top 3 are taken. I still think Nich and Monahan are both better players. Regardless I do see the need to get a third line center via this draft. Saves money and adds size at the same time. I think Nashville wants Nich because Center is the only position they are comfortable with. Carolina, like the Oil could take either a center or a winger.

I do think Paajarvi has the possibility of being a number two winger and gagner can move if needed. Hall also has the potential to play center. So really all we need is to move into Calgary's spot and we are getting a great player.
