How's the tattoo on Garth's taint look from where you're standing?

Former valued prospects. You're all right. He's the greatest GM ever. Time will tell. Just own up to how you defended him when Tavares leaves the team having never reached the 2nd round of playoffs.

- jmo16

huh? JT left? you arent talking about the 2018-2019 season??

is that a prediction for the next 5 years?? no 2nd round playoffs?

No. You're not and I'm guessing you're started to get a little worried like me that one of these horrible trades is going to happen
- Cptmjl

First thought that hit me was.....Damn...Luongo....hope it's even up!

I imagine it's a safeguard though since Poulin is a RFA...maybe they don't feel copletely out of the woods with Nilsson's health (?).
The draft will tell us a lot.

Yeah, even without trades or big signings I've been saying this for a while now this is going to be a huge offseason for Snow. As far as Luongo goes I think it's a realistic scenario just not in the way Canucks fans think(want).

Am I not up on current events? Didn't he refuse to sign with us not long after we drafted him?

Someone got you riled up today...

im sure he should have known that deHaan was going to be injury prone... other then him.. which "valued" prospects are we talking about? Ness, Kichton, Dibenidetto, Joensuu, Haley, Thompson
Which one of them did you expect to make a huge impact on this franchise?
I never said he was the best GM ever
If JT walks... he walks... it happens.. but it wont be because Snow didnt make a trade.

XxNYIxX

P.S. how did you know about the taint tattoo??

Sorry, these "reports" out of Canada are wishful thinking. They remind me of when Tavares all but had his bags packed to go to the Leafs once or even before his ELC was up. The way those stories went, we should have just taken a second round pick in return for dealing Tavares since he was as good as gone anyway. They're always quick to jump on scenarios that result in nothing of value for the Isles while some Canadian team gets Long Island's best players/prospects.

If it is strictly about money and only money for Wang, I think he'd look for a lifeline from Ratner/the Barclays folks long before he'd rid the team of cheap assets with a lot of bang for the buck (top prospects on ELCs).

A lot of players hate playing for Canadian teams because of the cold weather, the heavy tax, and the media destroys them.

Yeah, you and me both. I'm on a teeter totter here. I can't stomach anymore of Chuck saving cash moves or circumventing BS. Yeah, i'm happy as well as everyone else we showed some competitiveness but that doesn't mean I'm not going to have a problem with any circus BS in the offseason. It'll only take a couple minutes to get the wolfpac up and running at full speed.

In the case of Vancouver, it could work in an even up trade scheme (as a last resort for them) based on the idea that a buyout of DP is shorter and cheaper than a buyout of Lou. I honestly don't believe anyone is going to take on Lou's contract and he'll be an amnesty buyout himself.

That said, the Isles could play hardball here and tell Vancouver, "We're saving you $4 million a year by allowing you to buyout DP rather than Lou, so the trade is even up or maybe we throw in someone like Lee or even Hickey."
It certainly wouldn't take Strome to make it happen.

The other issue is, I don't think a player who gets traded after the CBA can be included as an amnesty buyout.

The matter makes sense for Toronto and Vancouver, but NOT the Isles.

exactly, the Nucks HAVE to shed cap, we don't HAVE to buyouy DP, infact, we may need his caphit

He's still part of the franchise, but he requested (due to the logjam at goalie) to play in Finland.

2009...like Poulin he's an RFA this year. Nilsson signed his contract later and isn't a RFA until next year I believe.

Drafted him June 26th 09
He signed a 3 year deal July 13th 09

I cant find anywhere that he resigned in 12, so that could be the impasse you remember. he is still our property, but apparently without an NHL contract.
