The Toronto Maple Leafs are the most financially successful club in the eastern conference and in the entire league. |

I sort of ignored that one because again, it's laughable. - Dee "I suck as a blogger" Karl
No its not laughable, Doug becoming the coach of another team, even the NYR is a possibility. You thinking its laughable is short sighted & disrespectful to Doug.

Who really cares about the blog,
more annoyed that Bickell will sign in Chi...... another good FA off the boards
makes me wonder if Snow will sign anybody bc there's not much worthy FA available, and we all know he doesn't trade..... |

Definitely agree. I think Weight will be a good coach in this league, and he obviously has ties to the Rangers organization.
He seems to hit it off with our kids and he has enough of an edge to his personality to be able to straddle the bridge unlike Tortorella. He's been an assistant for a couple of years now. If he doesn't get a job this offseason, I reckon he probably will in a few years. |

to sum this up, basically there is no way Weight will be the Rangers next coach because an Islander blogger likes him and hates the Rangers. |

I agree Potvin. I think Doug will be a fine coach. I would think the Rangers would want someone more proven like Ruff though. After Tortorella was fired I was just waiting for the Ruff announcement. |

I think the Rangers should go after a hungry, younger guy. Eakins seems like a good fit, and I think a guy like Doug Jarvis would be very well respected. I think Ruff is too similar to Tortorella. They make the right change in head coach, and the Rangers (as long as they have Lundqvist) are a very dangerous team again. |

More and more guys are re-signing with their own teams before FA. I thought the whole idea was to get to FA and talk to other teams? I have to think the Isles will make some sort of trade this offseason. - ses111
I will be shocked if Snow made a major trade, and wont be if its a small deal that we are use to........ |

The Mets traditionally are #2-4 in payroll in MLB. Revenue & success are TOTALLY unrelated. Given Toronto's record, in hockey, they may be worse than the Mets are in baseball. |

Small consolation is that she tends to keep it short & sweet. Check out the novel on Rags blog today. About 10,000 words re: Richards that amount to a, "Hey, thanks, Capt Obvious!" |

How dangerous can they be without consistent scoring? Unless Hank is working on being a better goal scorer....... Serious, though, the Rangers habit of overspending on FA's who never live up to their previous potential and all the lost draft picks to obtain said FA's are gonna catch up to them at some point(watch the trolls explode over this). Your goalie should not be the #1 Star every night. Too much to ask. |

I was just correcting Dee. I never said anything about financial success and hockey success being interrelated in any way. |
