He signed a 3 year deal July 13th 09

I cant find anywhere that he resigned in 12, so that could be the impasse you remember. he is still our property, but apparently without an NHL contract.

Out of the three drafted that year, it was actually Koskinen that the team was highest on. Sudsy practically begged Garth to draft him as he felt he was a franchise goalie in the making. Going into this season, he requested to play in Finland since there wasn't enough playing time to go around in Bridgeport between Anders, Kevin and himself.

Are you sure you don't want to ask for Taveres as well.

I don't think the monetary relief that the Islanders would achieve by such a trade would be worth their entire fanbase attacking their building with pitchforks.
