Read and 11th for Voynov and Bernier
do you do it???
i do!!! - FLYERSROCK!
With the growth Voynov has shown this season and definitely into the playoffs, I doubt the Kings value him less than the #11 pick.
Bernier for Read straight up is interesting. I figure each team's fan base values their asset in that deal as worth more than the other coming back. |

Would love that trade. Doubt it happens with only 1 season left on reads contract. - moylander
Considering Bernier has 27 days left on his contract, maybe it does. |

ummm Bernier is an RFA this offseason... he's a starter on a lot of teams. Kings dont care if Read has 1 year left on his contract, Bernier has 0. Get something for him while his value is maxed out |

Rfa is very different than a ufa which is what read is |

you think they are going to get a good 2nd line player signed for 3+ years for a pending RFA who all the 29 other teams know is gone?
ya good luck with that. Plus LA/Philly have ties. Whos to say LA wont resign him? Penner is gone, they need someone for 2nd/3rd line wing
great trade for both teams |

I do agree with the logic, even if it doesn't happen -- Matt Read at $900K -- there's significant value there to a cap-strapped team. That's why we like him so much, right? |

Like I said I'd love the trade.... I just think LA won't do it considering read is a ufa after 1 season. Let's say bernier goes to arb this season... that's worse case scenario... he's still a RFA after this next season, correct? Some team will trade LA more than a guy on a 1 year ufa contract. Wasn't the asking price for bernier last year a pick a prospect and an nhler? LA will look for more certainty in return. Jmo. |

It's possible. Of course, LA doesn't exactly have cap issues, so they could easily re-sign Read to an extension. I think sometimes people get too focused on the cap, and forget the key is to help the hockey team get wins. Read definitely would help the Kings.
I think it would depend if a team offered more. Considering the goalie market could be saturated, they might not get a better offer than Read. A 20 goal winger, with speed, who can play center and is capable of being a PP guy, plus an outstanding PK guy isn't exactly a small return.

Yeah, add in the "Bobby Ryan is from here so he must be the answer and must want to come here" line of thinking and we're definitely turning into the Leafs fanbase. |

hey bill any info on Peter Cehlarik? kid might be a good 5/6th round pick. He wasnt ranked midterm but now he is 28th in europe. - Philly1980
Played well for Luleå in the second half of the season. I question if he's the type of player who would do well over here, but as a later round pick, go for it.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 3m
It's not carved in stone, but in spite of what has been said in past, I expect PHI is likely to use compliance buyout on Ilya Bryzgalov.
Also, PHI is in market for D and may be willing to move one of their young centres - B Schenn or Couturier - for the right deal. |

Shattenkirk for B. Schenn as the center piece of a deal? I thought McDonald just retired from the Blues. |

All you guys saying that we should not re-sign Simon Gagne are really hurting my feelings...
And look for a bounce back year from Coburn. He's been hitting the gym hard doing crazy nose workouts this off season. |

My gut says they're more likely to move Couturier than Schenn. Just a gut feeling, nothing else. |

Very weak FA market for goalies. They had better make a real solid trade if theyre thinking of buying out Bryz.
Read for Bernier would be a good deal as much as I'd hate to lose Read. |

Nah. I wouldn't make the trade. Bernier's too small. |
