The hawks have opened as a -150 favorite to win the Cup...
- ilinkhawk

I knew they wouldn't be dogs and that is almost as the same as the -160 fav they were with LA.

What does the Kelly injury do to the Bruins ? Is he that much of a loss ? Equal to the Hawks Frolik ?
- mrpaulish

They may have lost their Frolik with the Campbell injury. ..Although he plays with more of an edge.

John Jaeckel: Chicago-Boston Prediction
- John Jaeckel

Congrats on beating the Kings. Neither team had a chance against Boston. They are just firing on all cylinders since the game 7 win in the first round. You will probably give them a little more fight than the Penguins.

Boston is going to steam roll the Hawks.. For Boston this will be like fishing in a barrel.. I am not saying the Hawks are not good, just not as good as the Bruins....

I am going to say what you already know but cant say since you are a Hawks blogger, Boston in 5.

Thank you for your feedback, it will be noted. Now take your sour grapes and go make some wine...I think we'll play the series and see what happens.

Well you were right about the hawks beating the kings So i won't scuff so much. On the other hand the bruins did just shut down the pens in four and only gave up two goals the whoe series. Pittsburg did try long strech passes up the middle agains the bruins they never worked. One thing you overlooked is the sheer size of the bruins D four of them are over 6 ft 4 and of course chara is 6 9. It's a lot easier to block lains with those long sticks those guys use. I'm also going to say that faceoffs could really have killed the hawks only need to look at that goal in the last 10 of last nights game. Boston I think will feed of stuff like that better then the kings will. But I agree it's difficult to say anyting until we've seen them play each other. So I won't make any predictions aside from that it goes 7 games. As boston is my second team (i've followed them as much as i've followed the oilers over the last couple of years) I'm pulling for them. Should be fun though.

So let's pretend we are Kompon for just a moment. Is there anyone here that would have had Bickell on the bench for a 5 on 3 PP in game 4? I still can't believe what a complete imbecile Kompon is. Can someone please buy this guy a one way ticket to Timbuktu to never be heard from again? Please!!!!!
- FourOrr

We as Kings fans said that about Kompon on a daily basis.. I was not shocked when they let him go. I was shocked the Hawks picked him up.

These comments are so silly. A lot of "experts" predicted the Pens would win easily against the Bruins. To predict, either way, with these kind of comments is just silly.

I believe there are ways to stream charity golf tournaments over the internet if you want to cheer for Burrows, Kesler and the Sedins over the next couple of weeks.

Exactly. Fact is, these are two fantastic hockey teams. Nobody knows how they'll match up against one another. Even more so with the lockout and them not having played against each other.

I am far from sour... I am proud of my Kings and we did good to defend as far as we did with so many injuries against a fast team like the Hawks.

I don't see how it makes me "sour grapes" because my opinion is Boston will play a style of hockey the Hawks cannot compete with. Yes I am a Kings fan and I would rather the cup stay in the Western Conference, on paper the Hawks are a better team but those Bruins are clicking just like just about every team that wins the cup.

And the Hawks, winners of 7 of their last 8, aren't clicking?

Fact: making bold statements like you just did is sour grapes and it's also silly.

Bruins for the Sweep!!

Bruins are going to beat them so hard, Quenneville's going to have to shave his stache and start a one-man town named after himself on an island in the NW Territories just to escape the shame.

In somewhat related news, I've taken to calling Crawford "Asstender of the year." Never seen a goalie wind up facing the wrong the direction more while trying to make a save. I've played the position and have been studying goalie mechanics for a long while now, and I honestly don't know how the (frank) he's getting the job done (half the time it doesn't look like there's any intent or awareness happening there.)

IT IS a sour grapes comment. You did NOT state an opinion, you stated something as fact, you even spoke about the series in the past tense even though a single game wasn't played.

It was you just pizzing on the parade because your team wasn't good enough and you couldn't just give kudos and make a PREDICTION.

During the offseason they really don't play too much golf in So Cal... they play beach volleyball...

So much anger over an opinion....

Just for YOU after each Bruins win... I am going to do the countdown to your offseason...

You're too easy. See how I used the contraction of you and are correctly there and am now calling attention to it to highlight your mental ineptitude? That's how you launch the 'ole ad hominem in proper, logical fashion.

That being said, my "for realz" estimate is looking like Bruins in 6, but thanks for playing. I'll be sure to send you a "My team didn't win the Stanley Cup and all we got was the 29th overall draft pick" T-shirt as a consolation prize.

Do you remember Dominick Hasek? He used to flail around like the fish at the end of the Faith No More "Epic" video but he seemed to get the job done. Not saying that Crawford is Hasek. I am just saying the results speak for themselves.

Wow. When you battle through three rounds and come out the victor, despite having your two stars taking most of those games off, a lot of people come out with hate and disrespect. Sorry to all of you who take so much joy in trashing another fan base as they celebrate their team. Maybe it's time for you to enjoy another sport, and another blog.

To my Hawk fan brothers, I'm so excited that we made it. How many heart attacks and ulcers have we shared watching our team this year. Here's hoping there's more to celebrate!!

GO Hawks--and GO AWAY HATERS!!!
