Can't wait for Wednesday!

Did anyone else catch CC's post-game interviews? I really thought he came off as sincerely excited, exhausted and elated. Rarely do you see guys let their guard down the way he did in answering questions. I think it speaks to how hard he's worked throughout his career to get to where he is. He wasn't a Patrick Kane who has all the natural ability in the world. Nice to see a guy like him rewarded.

That said, the job is not done. 4 more wins, Corey.

Another thing that jumped out at me last night is that we finally saw the best game from Dave Bolland so far in the playoffs. He was disciplined, not the puck deep every time he could, threw some good hits and was a pest all night with Kruger and Frolik. That line was a handful every time they were on the ice. Relentless.

I would argue that when he plays like he did last night, this hawks team is much more balanced throughout 4 lines than in 2010.

I will be in Chicago for the game next Saturday...hopefully I'm a good luck charm!

As a last note, kudos to Mike Richards. The guy is a warrior and his performance last night was all about will and drive. Unbelievable.

As for the matchup in the final, had I written a blog detailing what I thought about it, it probably would have been very similar to JJ's. I think CHI presents a matchup problem for the Bruins and their speed and relentless will lead to enough turnovers to turn the series in their favor.

Hawks in 7 as well...here's hoping we finally see a Cup win on UC ice!

He's been OUTSTANDING. Lot of jump, great along the boards, a superb defender and he and Fro have been a dynamite pk tandem. Just wish he'd SHOOT the puck. We saw he can when had that SNIPE late in the year.

Don't know where his ceiling is but what all those who are paid to know have said was Kruger's IQ is his best attribute. His skill at this level up until now didn't allow me to see that to the extent we see it now, but the kid has tons of hockey sense.

Will that evolve to being able to put up points? Maybe, but if nothing else this is the kind of bottom 6 guy that is on cup teams. Again, to me his awareness in all 3 zones reminds me of a Red Wing.

I have said many times
I have a love / hate relationship with Kane
Last night and in game 4 I loved his play.

Given he has been asleep for about 3 weeks it adds up he would have the energy to score as players faded in Double over time

No predictions on the final
Glad I stuck with it down 3-1 to the Wings and happy the team did too

Credit to the Kings, this club went out like a champion. I'm a fan of this club and their style. I think Richards typifies this club. Dude comes back from having his brains scrambled and goes 50% at the dot, gets the game tying goal with 9 seconds left, an assist and is a +1. ...Great club, great effort vs a more talented club.

JJ, nice writeup as always. You were proven correct in that debate with Garth. If this last series did not prove who the better possession team. Corsi is great but not perfect. Even with some building padding the numbers forced turnovers IMO is where to start.

Too many unknowns to call this one. Anyone calling a sweep or even 5 games is simply biased.

I kind of like that neither team has seen each or even each other's conference all year. Maybe they should limit inter-conference play to original 6 and outdoor games.....

Guys, really important question here...

I have an interview either Wednesday or Thursday. Do the hockey gods allow for a trim of the playoff beard? I don't want to jinx anything, just need to 86 the Kyle Orton neck beard

I think your summation is spot on. Everyone seems to underestimate how our speed messes with their offense........they just don't have time to do what they are used to doing. And, with Kane and Toews clicking, and Bickell being what he has become, we have lines that are second to none.

I sure didn't see it coming but Blackhawks are the class of the NHL. Hawks in 6.

I like the Hawks chances. But the Bruins are one heck of a skilled, tough and deep team as well.

My biggest fear with Boston, really comes down to how the Hawks handle the Bruin tactic to get under your skin. I think Boston does this better than anyone, and it can work wonders for them.

Marchant will be relentlessly talking trash, poking, prodding, instigating. Chara will be a tower of power. Lucic will be throwing his weight.

If the Hawks stay focused on a strong forecheck and team backchecking defence....and they finish checks without getting lured into extra riff-raff trouble...then they should be OK.

I worry a little about Bolland, Shaw, Bickell...and yes, even our Captain..Toews, getting caught up in the unnecessary provoking. IF we can stay to our game, we have a GREAT chance for another Cup.

Go Hawks!!!

I think you'll be alright trimming up the beard.

Anyways, looking like Kyle Orton can't be a good thing. Good luck with the interview.
