dont they always have something?
- Doc_Sarcasm

Who knows. They could just add a few pieces. Nothing major.

I sure hope so. Adding Streit is a decent move (depending on contract) but maybe they have something else cooking as well.

homer is always trying, he can't help himself.............drafting & developing will likely be a concept this team just will never follow.

I would like to retain the 11th and get top flight D talent to develop the next few years and move a forward for D and not pay out the butt for it.
- hereticpride

I'm all for that plan.

Nothing recent. No reason not to think positively, and that he'll be fine for the start of the Season.

i think "he's a flyer" now qualifies as a perfectly valid reason

Are you new here? I only ask cause I'm sensing something like... optimism...

I will say I'm more worried about Grossmann than Meszaros at this point. And Streit could be a sign that Homer is too.

I was just as surprised as all of us Homer pulled off the trade today. Am I concerned about losing the 4th? not really. The way I see it now homer a chance to sign Streit before Streit can wave a ridiculous offer from another team in homer's face. Hopefully he does sign him. I think Streit will really add what this team is missing (offensive puck movement from the D) and he will pair nicely with either Coburn or Schenn. Although he may cost a lot financially he costs very little in assets. VERY HAPPY to still have Coots and Schenn on the team. I see the flyers D overall as 3 decent pairings that will pretty much be 20 minutes / game each. I'm not concerned over who gets tagged as the #1, #2 #3 dman etc. Although older, Streit only has 7 years of NHL experience so hopefully that helps minimize some of the toll his body has taken over the years. My $0.02.

Valid point. Nobody will have the chance to make a Carle/Tampa type offer without the Flyers having their shot. *Crosses fingers the Flyers don't make a Carle/Tampa type offer*

Great goaltending out on the ice. Quality scoring chances being denied.

As long as the Streit deal is 3 years and under. Now buyout Bryz and Briere and get something for the Dman they decide to deal.

Who is goalie #1 is Bryz is bought out? If your answer is Mason, do you really think his sample size showed that he can be a #1 for a team that plays a poor team-defense style?

Don't have an issue with Streit. If he signs something reasonable for less than 3 years, and we got him for a 4th and a nobody, I'd be ecstatic.

Free agent or trade target to split time with Mason would be my answer. a .900 save % and 2.80 GAA you can find for less than $5.66mm

Yeah, I wouldn't either but it'd be hilarious to see him deal with the media here.

now i'm going to go find and replay the audio of Clarkie informing Timmy that the reason no one on the flyers will talk to him is because he's an @-hole.
