I think it's everything. Poor play, cap recapture, relationships with the team, the circus, the term of the contract...
It just didn't work out. Bryz will be a very rich man and maybe Snider will allow his GM to just do his job in the future - Jsaquella
Yes! If nothing else I hope Philly has learned its lesson on long term risky deals. |

Holy cap hit Malkin
Does this make Letang signing not so much of a given?
9.5 cap hit is amazing, he's worth it, that's just a big big number tired into one guy when you have another making 8.7 and your D blows |

We were driving back to Philly from Elkton Md. when the earthquake started.
We were stopped at a light on an overpass, and the car started shaking. The next five miles everyone was standing outside their stores and work talking on their cell phones.
That was pretty cool. - Marc D
I was in a meeting with the CEO and other major executives of my company, only my 2nd time presenting to them, in a highrise in Manhattan on the 48th floor or something like that. I was overly caffeinated, dehydrated, sleep-deprived, and in dire need of a bathroom break.
When the quake struck, I was quite literally standing at the urinal taking care of business. At first I thought my head was swooning from the coffee, lack of sleep and pressure of the presentation. But I noticed my "aim" was going up and down, pretty significantly. When I finished and went into the hall, everyone was kinda panicking a little, packing up and rushing down to the streets. After 9/11, can't really blame them. Found out a bit later it was an earthquake.
Still think it's kinda weird that I was going up and down instead of side to side tho. |

Should have traded him. Could have gotten a boatload of players/picks

I sit on a second floor large open office space. No lie, When the ewarthquake hit we were having a team building indoor relay type race. Just something small to raise spirits. Well I was working and started to feel the shaking, I literally thought it was from a larger person running down the isle. It took about 20 seconds to realize what was happening.

It doesn't kick in until next season when the cap will (most likely) go up. But still, it's too much. |

Sure it could've gone worse. There could be no compliance buyout where they have an out. There is always a bright side to everything. - MJL
What's the bright side to the Pronger injury? |

I hear Cave Man's hung like a lima bean.
But really, from a pure marketing perspective, Malkin could have gotten an over-the-top, ridiculous trade from Florida. |

That's pretty funny. When I read "larger" person for some reason my mind flashed to the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man. But hey, he's a sailor, he's in NY...

No, they won't have any buyouts left after Briere and Bryz are bought out in a few weeks. Just thinking a team may sign someone to a massive long term deal and go "all in" as they say and if it doesn't work just buy that player out.
