I agree, that is funny! It's also sad. Shame on those players if it's true. - MJL
Shame on the mgmt if that's the deciding factor given his performance, contract, the mkt alternatives, CBA realities, CBO window, etc. Obviously, a combo of all of these, but how they are weighted, we'll never know. |

Maybe, but when he's as good as he is, who cares. And you deal with it. - MJL
Maybe that's part of it in Bryzgalov's case, though. He's very well payed and you can't say he fulfilled his duty very well... or at least, not at the level you'd expect. |

I agree. There is enough there to not get involved in that, to make a valid argument to move on from Bryuzgalov. I would bring him back for another year. But that's neither here nor there. |

I think there's a difference between not playing well, and not performing your duty. Not performing your duty is not working hard, not keeping in shape. Not working hard in practice, not caring, etc. |

I could go either way with whether we keep Bryz or not.
I hated him being laughed at on National Television because of something dumb he said. He's representing my team! But I always defended his play.
If we do end up buying him out I'm gonna have to listen to all those fair weather fans who blame every issue on the goalie come out of the woodwork to tell me "I told you so!" And that part I dread. |

It's not the fair weather fans who'll come out, it's the foul weather fans. Ugh. |

The reality is that Mason could be every bit as good as Bryzgalov or better. And if I knew that to be the case, I'd be fully behind moving on from Bryzgalov. Because why pay the higher Cap hit and deal with the Cap recapture risk? But it could also be worse. So if Bryzgalov is bought out, we'll see what happens. A valid argument can be made for the buyout. All I know, is when I watch the top teams play, I see a drastic difference in the amount of quality chances given up, versus the Flyers in recent play. Not exactly a situation for a Goalie to thrive in. And that's not to say that Bryzgalov coudn't have played better at times also. Because he could've of. |

Mike Ribeiro might be a perfectly nice individual, but when I see him play hockey, I have to fight an urge to punch my tv screen. |
