Coburn for Ryan, Read for Bernier, Coutrier for Yandle.

It is, but if that happens I still shop Mez and replace Coburn elsewhere. Would hate to have to, but that'd be my armchair GM move. - cmr.266
Nothing wrong with doing what you just said. Anything can happen and the Flyers should keep the door open. |

Cap relief offers a ton of value at this point. The value for Coburn is a good point, but do you really trust Mez to play a full season? And if he does, do you trust him to earn his salary? He looked unbelievably lost out there last year. Coburn is the guy - assuming he becomes the shutdown guy of the pair he's on - that will eat 23 minutes a night and skate better than anyone else back there.
I will keep Coby. - cmr.266
Extremely unfair to say that Meszaros looked unbelievably lost, last Season. He was never 100%.

Fun time of year, but home much more fun would it be if the Flyers had picks 5 and 35 plus a few extra picks for Feds, Gagne.. At least they played better down the stretch. |

Hurt or not, this is a business and he's looked lost since 2011 when he was sheltered on the third pairing with the ageless Sean O'Donnell.
He looked like a poor man's Braydon Coburn. |

Ryan is much more of a LW by trade and no way in hell I take Voracek off Giroux's line after last year.
Not that I condone trading for him in the first place.
And also begs the question are you moving Coots or Laughton to the 3rd line wing, or burying one on the 4th line? |

I'd have to be extremely drunk to even consider Geno's or Pat's. Like Keith Moon drunk |

I disagree. He was trying to play coming off a major injury. Probably shouldn't have even been playing when he first came back. Obviously wasn't healthy.
And since this is a business, Pronger should get his ass out there this upcoming Season. |

Second sentence was a joke. But yes, he's basically anchored the third pairing since becoming a Flyer. Anytime he is more than that (e.g. Tampa Bay) he gets shelled.
I like Mez, believe it or not, but with the cap issues we have? I'd rather him go than Coburn. I don't see how they can possibly keep both. Replacing a Coburn would be much harder due to his unique skill set. |

I want to say Ryan was a RW most of his career and moved to LW because Perry played RW... Anyone know? |

That's true. Two major injuries.
I stand by my opinion. My point is really more of I'd rather keep Coburn. |

I wouldn't have a problem with moving him.
Just don't see him as bad skill wise. Being competitive and having injuries make you do dumb things. Like put the sweater on.

Based on his injury history, I don't have an issue with wanting to keep Coburn over him. But stating this is a business, and that he's gotten shelled. Not accurate.
I like Coburn and want the Flyers to keep him. But he doesn't have a unique skillset. In fact, Meszaros has a better skill set then Coburn does. |

If jvr has no chemistry with giroux, why would Ryan? These guys are basically the same player. Didn't we just dump this player last summer for a stay at home dman? Now we do the reverse trade this summer for a guy with a bigger cap hit?
It's so (frank)ing flyerrific |

Skills are fine, but I don't see him as an overly smart player. I realize I'm coming off as a hater, and you make a really good point. I wouldn't bank on him in my top four, and I don't prefer an injury prone $4M man on the third pair.
I just think he'll be leaving shortly. Time will tell. |

You can't compare players as being alike, and assume that that there will be chemistry issues because there was with the other player.
