JVR had a solid Season, but it wasn't anything special. But he cooled off in the2nd half. He scored 4 goals in the last 22 games.

both plyrs have a lot to prove after just 48 gms of fairly good play. JVR was dynamite in the plyoffs and that is special and he's demonstrated that quality before. jury still out...

He's been good...playing like that, at 23, amidst that mess of a season is reassuring. I was especially impressed as his minutes increased down the stretch when Grossmann (and Coby and later, Timo) went down to injury......he pretty much showed me he has the makings of a top pairing d man...he reminds me a bit of 1995-2000 era Scott Stevens. Tough as nails, hitter, solid defensive game, not going to blow you away offensively, but 25-30 points isn't out of reach. Now, if we only had a Scott Niedermayer to pair him with. nah typically not. and if we are talking upper top tier it will probably have to be even more than coots. i think a deal revolving around simmonds for edler would be a decent secondary option.

i wouldnt be sure either. i guess it depends on how you view him. the opinion seems to run the spectrum. and yeah i know right. but still, it just seems to me to just be the result of both teams playing really well, as opposed to both playing really bad (as the pens/flyers typically did) if that makes any sense
