Yeah I feel good about it. Of course, it's early July and I'm trying not to get overly excited. But I do feel like signing Emery's a step in the right direction. The best case scenario is that he and Mason become a great tandem. The worst? We go into the playoffs with no secure #1 goalie and we end up switching back and forth all over again to try to salvage a series. I think all Flyers fans know how that usually ends up.

There may be some doubters, but Im Digging this tandem. We are markedly better in net this coming season. Having two guys that want that No 1 Goalie spot is hopefully going to produce great results

The years of bad net minding in Philly must have gotten to you when Ray Emery gets you excited......Albeit signing players in FA is fun but making the playoffs might be tough with Detroit now entering the Conference and everyone but Buffalo seemingly trying to improve.....Top 8 next year......Boston Pittsburgh Washington Toronto Montreal Ottawa Detroit and then Philly, NYI, NYR, Tampa and Carolina fighting for position......It will be nice to see a full 82 game grind....

A lot of good teams in the conference... it makes you wonder how long it will be before the Sabres make the playoffs again. Hopefully not as long as the Bills been out of the playoffs.

Any truth to a rumor I saw about Coturier being traded to calgary? What could they possibly offer?

Sike. Philly is still above Mon/Sen/Tor. The injury plagued half season will show itself to be an aberration for the Flyers. Still solidly in the 4/5 Spot. For sure behind Pitt/Bos/Det/Was(due to divisions).
But it will be interesting between the NY teams and the Eastern Canadian teams.

Your goaltending will either get you in as a 6th seed or you'll be golfing with the Sabres......Dropping Coburn(or whoever to get under the cap) and Briere and adding Streit and Vinny isn't much of an improvement.....Two seasons ago the entire team performed above expectations.....Maybe last year was an anomaly or maybe it was a sign of things to come.....

Ok so Emery will get a possible career ending injury....we will pluck Leighton off waivers and he will lead us to game 6 of the finals and let in a goal where he was cheating to go post to post and will break our hearts again....ok i'm ready for it...
