this makes sense. This is a sensible rebuild plan. I hope we can keep vanek or trade him for an oshie/taresenko/Kuznetsov or something similar to help things along. I have a feeling that setogucci is a good comparable for stafford so we're probably going to keep him or try to deal him at the deadline for a 1st instead of a second we could probably already get for him.

I agree. This is how rebuilds work. You play the kids and see what you've got before making any bold moves. Most on here know that this is probably the worst crop of UFAs ever so I don't understand why many are so impatient for a big move.
I do believe Miller will be traded at some point this summer. As for Vanek, have no problem with him staying. However, a proven goal scorer who performs well in the playoffs will be in big demand come next season's trade deadline. I believe the Sabres could really cash in on trading him near the deadline.
