Haha ok maybe sometimes but Orr was at the side of the net and the goalie flew out, landed on his ass and waited for Orr to just skate around the net and put it in. I don't think Orr even made a move, in fact it's possible the goalie slipped and just didn't get up. Either way, any goalie that does something as terrible as that today gets pulled. Yet it's still a top 10 goal of all time? I don't think so. Awesome hero run with a lucky empty-net finish is more like it. - JAKEw1234
I'm just trying to figure out what a hero run is. Bobby Orr was just lucky ranks right up there with Gretzky scored all his goals due to his on ice bodyguard. |

Can you believe 2 years after the Flyers gave him that contract, he's basically become a pariah. Unreal.
I don't think NHL teams want anything to do with the guy. - PLindbergh31
Yeah, I think teams are gonna stay far far far away from him. I think Bryz goes to the KHL anyway, it's his Motherland |

2001 SCF, Roy near end of his career, Brodeur in his prime, Roy outplayed Brodeur.
That's big. - PLindbergh31
I agree, Roy was a beast. I loved the shyt out of him. Excellent goalie |

Not sure about easily. But I agree. The stats say otherwise, but the eye test to me said Roy was the best.
I think my dislike for Brodeur skews my view of him. |

The guy with 6 Vezina's last huh?
The thing is, someone can put them in any order and would have a valid argument. |

Again, never said Gretzky was bad. I think he's the best of all times. I just think it's much harder to score in today's game, and it's unfair to say the superstars of today can't even come close to being compared to Gretzky. |

I dislike Broduer but i'd say Hasek had the weakest D corps out of all of them. Buffs D was no where near as god as the D corps put in front of either Broduer or Roy |

Agreed. I wish Brodeur played for less defensive friendly teams. God damned Calgary for drafting Trevor Kidd instead of Brodeur.

Well, I haven't read a valid argument that points out that it's unfair. You mentioned Stamkos. Do you think that Stamkos and Mike Bossy are comparable players skill wise?

If you had a poor defensive team, probably want to choose Hasek.

Roy's run in 1993 is up there with any goalie, ever.
And even though Brodeur was third, the guy was an incredible goalie for a long time. I put him third because I've never seen him utterly take over like Roy and Hasek did, but he never really had to.
But he was another guy that rarely allowed a goal when his team got a lead. |

Well look at what McDavid does now, as an example of his physical prowess he'll have over other prospects. He's 16 now, and per USA Today, "Typically, the 5-11, 175-pound McDavid works out for six hours daily beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Erie Insurance Arena. When not at the rink, or traveling, the teenager takes online high school courses so he can graduate on time in Canada." He doesn't even go to school. He's just hockey, all day, and all night. Nothing but hockey and working out in order to be better at hockey. His size is close to NHL ready now, and he's still 2 years away from the draft. - JAKEw1234
I am completely convinced he's the next one. Crosby can't hold this kids jock. I was watching highlights of Morin. I was wondering who this kid was during most of the highlights of Morin. It was Mcdavid making unbelievable passes. Looking like a man amongst boys against players 2 years older than him.
Flat out unbelievable. |

Well said. Brodeur was asked to do the least. Very interesting debate with those 3 players. |

OK. Hasek, Roy, Brodeur.
I guess it was Karl Dykhuis' bouncer from the blueline that beat Hasek for a PO OT winner that is burned into my memory kinda leans me toward that order.
That said, any order would be fine with me really. But if I had to choose one, it would be Roy. |
