I believe that isn't true, when I'm at my brothers and theres a concert going on, i'm not grateful that he is in listening range of bc place and rogers arena...i'm pretty sure selena gomez would sound just as bad from across the bridge as she does inside the arena... when theres a selena gomez concert going on in vancouver, the best place to be is australia...that way theres no way of hearing her

What article is this?

I'll admit I didn't watch the WJC evaluation tourney, but I watched the hilights and was following the feedback/comments/twitter as much as anybody, and I never saw a single comment that said he was the best player.

He did lead the team in points, but that doesn't mean he was the best.

His goals/assists were mainly garbage points from going into the dirty areas, which is great, and the team will need that, but it still doesn't mean he was the best.

He showed well, and if he has a good start to the season (likely in the OHL, but who knows), he'll probably make the WJC team.

Also Gilman today on the Sekeres show said he fully expects either Gaunce and/or Schroeder have the best chance to make the team.

OK. Thanks.

It is coming from CDC, so the "fluffing" is to be expected.

Gaunce did do very well—all three Canucks prospects did—but from the hilights and from what I've read, I doubt he was "the best."

I honestly think the spot is Schroeder's as long as his shoulder is good.

It's a big jump from CHL to NHL, and Schroeder's got several years of development on Gaunce, as well as a résumé against pro players.

I think one of the big 3 CHL prospects will get a 9 game look, but all will be returned to their respective teams.

It was written by Tyson Giuriato who has no affiliation with CDC or Canucks. They reposted it on their site and it was also in the Province newspaper.

Under normal years we know Gaunce would not be trying out for the Canucks. Gilman clearly stated today they are not going after any more forwards this summer. The roster spots will be filled with existing contracted Canucks. So players like Brule will not be given a PTO (his exact words) So with that said there is a fourth line and a 3rd line center to be filled.

I am not sure how thrilled they are withSchroeder but they are high on Gaunce. He said Jensen will have a harder time to grab a spot because they do have an abundance of wingers.

I don't see why a KHL team would be too interested in him. He's not a well known player in the NHL, let alone internationally. Seems like BS coming from his agent. And I doubt the KHL would offer him too much money either and it's definitely not worth plying in the KHL compred to the NHL unless you feel comfortable living in Russia, not being close with teammates/understanding the language as a foreigner, being away from all of your family and friends and not getting the first class treatment as god as NHL players do from their organization on road trips and such.
- Nucker101

Pretty sure Sweatter played briefly in the KHL... Remember him? Most likely posturing by his agent, but Tanev could absolutely get decent money in the KHL.

Giuriato does in fact work for the Canucks/CDC.

Like I said, there's a big difference between CHL and NHL competition, and you can't underestimate the difference several years of development will make.

If Gaunce is ready, I'll be thrilled, but my money is on Schroeder as long as he's healthy to start camp.

Gillis gave Gaunce praise at the end of the year locker clean out...I'd be surprised if Gaunce wasn't on the team next year...at least for a good chunk of games

What is he supposed to do? Insult one of his best prospects? Not like GMs ever say one thing and do another, right?

I'll be surprised if Gaunce DOES make the team.

I'll be thrilled, but surprised.

Canucks don't have a history of rushing prospects.

He'll get a spot if he earns one. And I don't mean on the 4th line—Gaunce playing 4th line minutes is not best for his development, and as such, isn't best for the Canucks.

He barely mentioned the other prospects...horvat and shink won't be ready this season i'm guessing...schroeder was injured last season, maybe they know something about the injury that we dont...all i know is currently this is the canucks roster...and i find it very telling that they include gaunces name here and not schroeder or horvats

Well, that roster does have Derek Joslin on it, who isn't even signed by the Canucks anymore...so....

I don't think it's very telling at all.

It looks like a semi-updated roster with last year's "black aces" (of which Schroeder wasn't because he was injured), and a few of the early FA signings.
