No, it's not a valid point.
You got booted off this board a while back. You still want to fight with me. Some guy calls me delusional for stating what is to most a fairly reasonable point. I fire back. You want to make me the bad guy.
So, it is really your problem. No one's fooled. Care to continue? - John Jaeckel
if you promise not call the mods and get me banned sure.
if the delusional remark bothered you that much then it's on you.
he had a valid point himself. not one i entirely agreed with but i think a stacked team is the 80's oilers. not a deep team like the hawks or even the bruins.
as far as making you the bad guy you have a history of belittling people on your threads. an opinion shared by most. |

how am i trolling? i like to keep up with the other top teams in the league. the hawks are certainly one of those. the only downfall in following the resulting discussion is JJ gets all bent when someone disagrees and talks down to them like they're completely stupid. his "i know everything, i'm an insider" stuff can get a bit much from a neutral perspective.
that said i really like the hawks and always have. fans too. - Fountain-San
I'm sure the mods will enjoy reading this thread and this post in particular.

No, see, that's personal and a violation of the code of conduct. it's not on me. it's on him. Get your facts straight.
Here's another fact you need to work through your brain. If I report you, and you get banned, it is not me getting you banned. It is what you're being reported for getting you banned. You . . . getting you banned.
Take some responsibility, or expect more of the same.

Stacked isnt having 1 great line, a good 2nd line, and 1 great D Pairing, an average goalie, and the rest of the team as depth players. You my friend are delusional. Chicago won this cup with great team work and coaching and clutch plays by their star players. A stacked team is the Colorado teams that won the cup, the Detroit repeat cup winners in the 90's. Thats a stacked team, its almost impossible to have a stacked team in the salary cap era. - GOA88

His assessment of the Hawks lines and depth, which players are which. Those are opinions.
From a fact perspective, which the blog today is based on, not terribly much, aside from some forward depth, has changed from the team that set the all-time consecutive points record to open a season and won the Stanley Cup fairly convincingly (sorry). THAT is closer to a fact.
And that, in his world, makes me "delusional."

Handzus was the 2C in the playoffs, will he be going forward? No, he'll be the 4C. Stan didn't expect Handzus centre the second line, but all the stars aligned and everything fell into place and Handzus filled that role. That's why this is a one in a lifetime trade, you can trade for 10 other players in Handzus's situation and it's very unlikely that they'll perform at that level. I wouldn't expect it again. - DarthKane
I don't know... I mean if we didn't ask Brunette to skate up and down the ice for 14 minutes a game and surrounded him with the same depth... I dunno... I just think its the system... I mean Handzus didn't exactly excel in San Jose... |

John, you've never had a few pops with your buddies while talking hockey and one offers an opinion and the other says, "you're delusional. the power play stinks. how could you say that?". some thing like that? is that a violation of the code of conduct? it's talk.

for a blogger, one that paints himself as a real "pro", this is just silly. it's a word John. not a personal attack. the guy was totally talking hockey. - Fountain-San
Also, how do I "paint" myself? Where do you get this?
No, this is how you paint me in order to portray me as a hypocrite and a jerk. Don't you see how transparent you're being?
I can go all day on this. |

No, it is not just a word. if I called you childish. Is that just a word or a personal attack? It is the latter. But I am not calling you that.
It is a personal attack, to which I responded actually by just saying you don't deal in facts. And that makes me the bad guy to you.
Keep going. - John Jaeckel
no need to apologize for the "convincing" "going away" cup victory. it's your view. no problem and kudos to hawk nation. i can't stress enough how much respect i have for the organization.
it's the way you talk to people, or at least respond to some people on the thread, that get's me annoyed. |

he's not my buddy. I don't know him. He's calling me delusional on a public message board.
i asked him for facts, and told him, yes, to that point he wasn't dealing in facts.
You then joined in and said I was in the wrong. But he was completely justified.
Right?
What do I have wrong here?
I don't think you're going to stop and say, "you know what I jumped the gun and maybe took a shot when I shouldn't have."
No. You'll keep arguing this. Like I said, i have all day. |

Agreed...and the loss that will hurt the most: Frolik.
Stalberg, sorry TrueGrit, is a 1 dimensional pile. He'll be a free agent bust in Nashville and nobody will remember him in 10 years. He was fast, but his ability to finish was bad. He's the Asian kid from Mighty Ducks.....
Bolland....Shaw or Kruger can do what he does...and Shaw may end up being better being a Bolland clone, then Kruger.
Frolik: This is the one that hurts to me...Guy busted tail every shift. Great PK guy, great skill, and he scored some very large goals...hell, he was a millimeter away from being a Hawk folk hero on that redirection, that Bolland cleaned up off the post.
Smith will fill a role, but I'm not buying high on either Morin or Hayes. I've seen Hayes play live at the UC, and he looks out of place. Slow, inability to hit, and honestly...I'd trade him for any veteran with a proven NHL record who won't hurt you and fit Qs system.
Lets hope the drunken Russian is working on his legs/conditioning in between slamming shots of Vodka and driving mach 4 in his sports cars this offseason, because his signing still makes zero sense to me, and I'm just waiting to read the tweet: And Khabibulin just left practice/morning skate earlier....followed by Q: Nik is day to day with a lower body injury....and then I'm going to do shots of Vodka and pray Crawford doesn't melt down or get hurt. - SteveRain
Don't wanna get in to the Stalberg Frolik thing again, but you see the hypocrisy in this statement right? When Stalberg hits the post, which he does a lot, he is a bad finisher, but when Fro does it, he's millimeters away from being a hero. Just something to think about. |

i guess i look at personal attacks a lot differently than you do. i think you're being way overly sensitive to a word that someone called you in a post. but we obviously disagree.
and you're right. the way you talk to people that disagree with you is always completely reasonable and measured. you're never in the wrong. - Fountain-San
I've already said all I have to say. I can be wrong. There are people on this board to whom I have apologized in the past. Even fans of other teams who I have gotten into it with. I can name some.
But I am not wrong today. You are, and continue to be. Will you own up? Of course not!
Your signature/location kinda says it all, doesn't it? Classic. You can't script this stuff! |

I agree, but for some reason he did between Hossa and Sharp. This isn't as easy as you think, Bolland couldn't do it, Morrison couldn't do it, Kruger hasn't done it (yet). That's why this is a one in a million trade. You acquire a guys expecting him to centre the 4th line or be just another depth forward and he ends up successfully being the 2nd line centre. Nobody saw that coming, not even Stan. |

"The Hawks have 1 great line" (hes reffering to our top line, which can only be compared to other top lines.) So when comparing the Hawks 4th line last year to the other teams in the league, it wasnt in the great category as a 4th line? The Hawks 3rd line last year wasnt a "great" 3rd line when compared to the rest of the league? uh...yes it was. Those are facts. That's what's wrong, as well as much much more that is only a waste of time to mention because the silver lining is u know these things urself but ur just serving ur cause by trying to defend his false statements towards the team that just beat ur team in the Cup final. |

i guess.
i look at it as a well constructed team. not stacked. it may just be semantics. but again the 80's oilers were stacked. all stars all over the line up. the Bruins while not as good as the Hawks are built the same. to roll 4 effective lines. that doesn't make them stacked. |

The Bruins were unable to roll 4 lines against the Hawks because the Hawks were stacked. |

i don't know about that.
the hawks style of play killed us. too fast. couple that with the Bergeron and Campbell injuries and we never had a chance in the long run.
but the games were all rather close. |
