At this point his Junior numbers have zero to do with it. And yes, Rinaldo is in the NHL for his physical play. Which are qualities that team's see value in. And there is always room for improvement in a player. - MJL

This doesn't make any sense. His Junior numbers are what they are. That doesn't mean that he's not capable of improving as a player. Of becoming a solid 4th role player, that can contribute more then just a physical presence. And I provided evidence to support that. And that the Flyers feel the same way. |

The possibility exists for everyone to get better. Some much more likely than others. But there has been nothing in Rinaldo's game that shows he has the capability to become a better defensive player.
And using public comments from a coach, player or management isn't proof of anything substantial because they're always going try to paint a positive spin to the media/fans.

They aren't trying to paint a picture and put a positive spin on it. They were actually playing Rinaldo on the PK in the AHL in an effort to develop that part of his game. That is not PR, that is real player development going on. And if there was nothing in Rinaldo's game that shows he has the capability to become a better player, the Flyers would not be wasting their time trying to develop Rinaldo as a player in that area. You read on that, couldn't be more off base. |

i'm not doubting that they're trying to make him into a useful player. I'm doubting that they'll succeed. |

So it's more then just painting a positive spin to the media? On and on we go. You may be right, time will tell. But again, to sum it all up, stating that Rinaldo brings zero to the ice offensively and defensively, is extremely shortsighted. He has a long way to go to be more then just a physical 4th line player. But the potential is there. And the Flyers, based on how they're handling his development, also see that.
So to sum it up, you've offered nothing concrete to back up any of your premises concerning Rinaldo as a player. |

Look, Rinaldo, (frank)ing, sucks.
That's it. I know, it's hard to admit since you seem to be enamored with his pugilistic skills, but he really, totally (frank)ing blows.
The fact you think he may become a guy that can kill penalties (when he's not the one in the box) doesn't change the fact he completely sucks. |

I haven't mentioning his fighting ability once. And it's a fact that he sucks?
Provide some actual facts and we'll continue to talk. |

Provide some actual facts that he doesn't suck... because, yes, he does suck.
Just like Ryan White sucks, or Colby Armstrong sucks. |

The Flyers just re-signed Rinaldo to a 2 year contract extension in April. NHL Teams do not offer contract extensions to players that "suck". |

But you haven't come to the best conclusion possible. That's the point. Other then trying to misuse Corsi, you haven't offered anything that backs your point up. Other then basically you don't like Rinaldo as a player, and don't want him in the Flyers lineup. That's the basis of your entire premise. Which is fine, everyone is entitled to an opinion. |

It's not really just an opinion. I've asked you repeatedly to back up statements that Rinaldo adds nothing offensively or defensively, and that he doesn't being in the NHL. With something close to being concrete and real. Those are the statements I take issue with. That you don't like Rinaldo, and don't want him on the Flyers, I really don't care about. I didn't like him either when he first came on the scene. But I kept an open mind, and watched his growth as a player. |

All you have to do is watch him play. And his stats are also a testimony to his play. |

I've kept an open mind about Rinaldo. And all I see is a guy who can skate and is aggressive. Occasionally creating a turnover on the forecheck does not equal an NHL player, imo.
Your idea that he can change momentum, or is feared by grown men, is a myth. |

I never stated he is feared by grown men. And as I said previously, I can provide proof of what a physical game of the type that Rinaldo provides, can do for a team. And I can also show specific examples in a game, where Rinaldo has provided a spark and set the tone in a game with his physical play. Which has led to offensive opportunities for his team.
If Rinaldo isn't an NHL player, why is he on the Flyers? Why did they re-sign him to a two year extension? What do they see that you don't?
If you have truly kept an open mind about Rinaldo, you'd have a different opinion of him.
The difference between our opinions is that I can provide evidence that supports mine. All you can do is call something a myth. You can't provide evidence that it is a myth.
All I've asked from you through this entire conversation, is to provide something, anything concrete that supports your opinion of Rinaldo. |
