From NHL. com:
The SC Champion Blackhawks #7 was Sheldon Brookbank. 12:45 TOI/game.
The SC Finalist Bruins #7 was Matt Bartkowski. 13:29 TOI/game.
The WCF Kings #7 was Keaton Ellerby. 14:17 TOI/game.
The ECF penguins #7 was Engelland/Despres. 13:55/15:06 TOI/game.
So a little more than 12, but under 17. - jmatchett383
Even if he plays 12 minutes, would you be comfortable for those 12 minutes he was on the ice? During those 12 minutes Gervais would have to take shifts against good lines. Once you get to the playoffs, most teams are 2-3 lines deep and the 4th line doesn't play much. |

I believe you said he is an above average depth defenseman. - GOA88

He called him an "average" depth defenseman and a "fine part-time 6/7 defenseman." I think that might even be much, as I'd call him a below-average depth defenseman. - jmatchett383
Yeah, and if he is an what you call him that makes him a minor league defenseman. If he plays in the minors for any extended period of time then he is a minor league defenseman. If he gets called up because of injuries thats one thing. I get that. But when this team is healthy, he doesnt belong on the roster. |

False. \two way has zero to do with a players waivers status. One way or two way determines how a player is paid. Waviers is based on total NHL games played, and when the player signed his first NHL contract. - MJL
I just hate Gervais. I don't want to see him on the ice for the Flyers ever again. |

Would I? No. I wouldn't be fine with most depth defenseman playing 12 minutes a night, but it sometimes happens out of necessity.
Also, in the playoffs, most team also limit their #6 defenseman. See: 2009/2010 SCF ice times from Pronger/Timonen/Carle/Coburn. |

Well why do you hate Gervais? That is the real issue. And it's because of how he looked last Season when the Flyers were forced, due to injury, to misuse him. He was not signed to play as much as he had to. |

I don't think they're overreacting. But they're loosened up and probably feel somewhat invincible. I will say, fighting a drunk person, not really much of a challenge. - jmatchett383
I tend to be afraid to fight anyone nowadays...Back in the day the most youd get was a black eye and a hurt ego...now you have to worry about someone pulling out a gun or a knife... |

There's a difference between a depth defenseman and a minor league defenseman. He's a depth defenseman who may get pushed to the minors due to the salary cap and a somewhat unique situation concerning the Flyers' defense. That doesn't mean he's not a depth defenseman. |

I've gotten in fights at concerts (I go to different concerts than most people) but it's been years. Still, drunks are usually not very coordinated. |

I envy the two beer queers as you call them.. I've gotten to the point where I can't stand drunk people in general. To make this short, I graduated last year, got a job, got my own apartent still off campus at school to stay close to gf (she has one year left). So I'm still close to all the college bars and what not but refuse to go to any of them. There's prolly 10 bars that i can walk to, I will only go to 2 maybe 3 of them. - JFlyers00
Meh its called being responsible....getting arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct doesnt make you that appealing to potential employers lol |

I went to a one concert in my life(some fat chick i was seeing at the time dragged me to a creed concert). Almost got run over in the parking lot by some hick and his monster truck... he hit a few people and drove through the parking lot fence with his truck....Location Camden-tweeter center...Personally i prefer to walk away...

Last time I got into a fight was during Terror playing at the Starlight Ballroom during This Is Hardcore in 2011. Buddy got into a fight during NRSV (I think it was their set) at it this year. Used to get into fights all the time during Madball and Hatebreed shows back when Hatebreed played at the Troc before they got big. Few fights at American Nightmare shows, and some random bands at the First Unitarian at 21st and Chestnut. |

If he needs to be shielded from the opposition than he obviously isnt NHL material - GOA88
That's not reality. Coaches spend a lot of energy trying to get the right matchups, and trying to keep players out of certain matchups. Such as keeping 6/7 defenseman away from the opposition's top line whenever possible. |

It's very possible that the Flyers may have to demote Gervais for salary cap reasons, this upcoming Season. |

That's why I try every possible avenue to not fight anymore. There's rarely ever a reason for it. Seemed cool when I was younger, but not the only reason I fight is...well, I can't really explain the mentality of the shows I go to, it makes no sense unless you're there. |

No more deaths which is good. And my personal life is slowly getting better, just in time for work to take a dump on me.
The way of the world. I still miss my pups though. The girls are great but I miss the boys.
The good news is that with so much more time in the mornings I am working out again versus giving shots and pills, and trying to get them to eat.
So baby steps in the right direction.
My fiancee has been my lifeline. He's very, very good to me and hasn't been busy at work so it's almost like having a house husband right now.
And yes, the season cannot get here fast enough! |

Makes me glad I only go to performances by the mummified remains of old metal acts. Most of the fans are too old to fight. |

Depends on the league. Player safety initiatives in the KHL is are still pretty much lip service. On play where Vasiliev got hurt, the ref saw the play right in front of him and didn't even call so much as a crosschecking minor. - bmeltzer
Seems as though the KHL refs' optical healthcare is lacking. |

Saw Iron Maiden and Slayer in the past 2 years (maybe both last year, can't remember). Good times, aside from, again, some drunken frat boys at Slayer. |
