Someone told me that adding that Vince Laver guy would help too.

NICE
He had some glimmer's yesterday but not his best pre-season game.
Strongest line really did feel like Coots, Read and Talbot. How much of that was because of their opposing lines, no clue. But it was good to see.

who would Hexy hire as coach?
- vejim

Idk if he would be a good coach or not. Plus, I think he is more geared towards GM than Coach from a professional standpoint

Well they are going to be terrible for the next 3-4 years.. and Connor McDavid is coming up the ranks as well as a few other gems.
- jak521

But the NHL has no interest in them improving, so they'll lose the lottery for him.

The Pens will win the first pick in the draft despite finishing with 10th worst record. They draft the most exciting prospect since Sid...

I think it's a little early for that. Frustrating game to watch, but again preseason. I def think he needs to make some adjustments to the game plan vs NJ as this is clearly not working. As has been stated, close the gap between D and forwards so the D doesn't get sealed in for hours on end.

I took some positives from last night's game though. Ray has lost some lateral movement, but overall solid. Read looked solid. Giroux looked great, and I didn't think Laughton wasn't that bad... I think he's improving. Raffl got pushed off the puck once like a rag doll..I am sure it was just an experiment, but I can't see Gus and Streit together as a reg pairing.

This is still a work in progress, but I hope this team starts the season strong as it will alleviate some pressure on everyone.

i'm not advocating for his dismissal or suggesting what we've seen far indicates that this team suck and have no chance of defeating it's defensively minded rivals. it could though. we just don't know and have to wait to see how it all shakes out. i want him to succeed.

Absolutely. Read seemed to have the puck glued to his stick. I suspect gratuitous use of double-sided tape.

Enough.
I've had my disagreements as well but I'll defend his knowledge of the CBA and I wouldn't ever question his desire to see this team win. Ultimately we are all here cuz no one else would listen to us prattle on about our favorite team.

What makes you think I was talking about anyone in particular?

Besides, I really didn't start it today.

We could always hire Jaroslav Modry as coach, as we're already used to ripping on him. Rathje's an option too.

i'm familiar with this unfortunately. my half-brother supposedly has this syndrome. i don't buy it completely. i think he's partially been conditioned to think he's not "normal".

Since (frank)ing day one always on our backs
Trying to tell us how to look and trying to tell us how to act
You never give us a break you don't give you only take
You say we're wrong, no we're just not fake
So what do we do, when you put us down and rub our faces into the ground
We're tried of taking your poop
Your criticism, everything, we won't stand for it
We won't stand for it
(frank) you i don't care what you say, it doesn't mean a thing to me
I could care less about what you think
We wont change we're here to stay

Look, I drove the "Fire Lavvy" bandwagon early last year. It was a nice vehicle, too.

However, I'm willing to give this until December before going in a different direction, so I'm not going to get worked up about a pre-season loss to a team that will only be discussed in hockey circles for who they will have missed out on in the lottery.

ok, i'll bite. don't you think it's possible that a professional athlete "just doesn't care"? isn't it possible, just possible, that a players doesn't play the way he is being told to play?

Any thoughts Ek's Flyers "may" be close to getting rid of a D-man?

Now this I agree with. I also expect them to be a playoff team. However should they meet say the Rangers in round one, struggle to score at even strength and go down in 5 or 6 games, I think a coaching change would then be made.
- BiggE

im not afraid about the rangers being as stiffling as they were under torts....New jersey on the other seems to get more stiffling every year...

So from what I gather, Giroux needs to be stripped of the captaincy and benched. That about right?
