I get all the arguments of system change and talent but what did we see in LA, was that smoke and mirrors because they looked pretty dam good and the system was being executed fairly well? |

Nash was dominant in that game and the team has essentially fallen apart since he took the shoulder to the head

totally agree. No respect for fellow players and headhunting every time he steps on the ice. The guy is a complete pile of crap.

AV may need to bench some guys and have a torture practice to send a message. Maybe with Torts gone, this team is a little too relaxed. Torts was maybe too extreme but I'm sure they say sat there worried how hard they were gonna be tortured in practice and screamed at after a bad performance. That's not a fun way to have to "go to work" but when you play like this it's exactly what they deserve. |

I agree with almost everything that has been said. If I am trying to explain this, and I admit that I may be reaching here, I would say that when you change a system dramatically, it takes time to learn the system. I think the reason why they look so bad right now, is that they are thinking too much, and overly focused on where they should be and what they should be doing, rather than playing the game instinctively. Right now, this is not second nature for them. They look lost and confused, and hopefully, when they get a little more comfortable with the new way, the play will improve dramatically.
But, with all the above said, despite the fact that this is an 82 game season, with the parity in the league these days, if you get off to a say a 2-7 start, you are really putting yourself behind the eight ball. They need to figure this out soon, because if they don't, they'll be playing catchup the whole season, even if they start playing well.
These players all through camp talked about how much fun they were having, and how nice it was to play hockey the "right way" as Brad Richards said. Now its on them as far as I am concerned. You talked a great deal about how liberated you feel now on the ice, now prove you deserve those additional freedoms before you either get the new coach fired, or your get yourself traded.
One last point, over the last few years, we have heard alot of about the "leadership group" on this team. Perhaps that group needs to be shaken up a little, because while I like each of the guys that are part of that group a great deal, they are all relatively laid back people, who are lead by example types. Perhaps this team needs a bomb to be thrown into that lockerroom, and to acquire someone that has a more outgoing, fire breathing type of demeanor. I said this last year, and I still believe it. This team might need to throw a couple of Aholes into that lockerroom, because perhaps they are becoming too comfortable. |

Yeah, I watched almost that entire game, and said afterwards that I loved that type of hockey (which they played against a really good team). I am really at a loss to explain how the team that played that game, could also have played the last two.

A 2013 version of the Mark Messier trade would be even nicer...I'm mad right now but at the end of the day I hope my anger turns into humility bc if I'm wrong I will be the happiest man on earth bc it would mean the rangers are winning which is what we all want |

I hope so, you know all jokes aside about Avery & how much everyone else besides Rags fans hated him, he was more of a circus clown, not the type of player who would literally go out of there way to take a gratuitous shot at a player like Kaleta did. |

This keeps going on and they continue to embarrass their fans and the organization, nobody should be safe...nobody.
Not sure how this upcoming draft is but the Rangers have several players that can bring back first round draft picks and solid prospects. I will not surrender the season just yet but like I said, if this continues, this supposed "core" they have should be dismantled. |
