I'd think with Nash out Miller or CK will be called up. The problem at the moment is defensive breakdowns, HL not being focused early and obviously the lack of offensive pressure, compounded now by Nash being out. I've been all for moving DZ for a few years now but his value is slowly eroding into 50% of what it once was. If you could move him with a prospect/pick for Hemsky or Glencross I'd see if its' possible. Either way it's going to take a few years of roster shifting, prospect developing and smarter FA depth moves to get where it needs to be, but I have alot of faith in AV and his staff, as well as Jeff Gorton. Sather on the other hand needs to step down after this year, its past his time.
Build around the 6-7 core guys like RC, Stepan, Hagelin, Nash, McD, Moore, Staal and HL, plus prospects like Miller, Fast, Lindberg and hopefully CK. McIlrath I'm still not sold on but we'll see, he needs at least another year in Hartford. Some of the lower level guys like Nieves, Fogarty, Buchnevich and Duclair are intriguing to watch, but there's no gamebreaker in the system. It wouldn't actually be the worst thing in the world if they ended up with a top 6-7 draft pick to get an impact talent.

Nice job Jan. One huge difference I both hope and think we will see is that AV will not publicly criticize his players like Torts was wont to do on occasion. Thus we had what we had today in the form of a closed door meeting. I'm sure there were plenty of unkind things said to every player because truthfully, no one had a good game Tuesday. Everyone was bad. Richards was the least bad, IMO but still not good.

Couldnt have put it any better Jan. Tuesday was a debacle, bbut i truely expect a better effort tonight.

Im gonna be watching the giants before the rangers, so this could be a really good, or really bad night for me.

Good job Jan, agree on almost everything. Not being able to watch the game & get the feel for how it all went down doesn't matter. A 9-2 score, Nash hurt on a cheap play, a hot dog move on a late goal & NO response from the team, especially Asham & Dorsett. What are these 2 in there for if their not gonna be "let loose" late in that game? Disgrace, but again, its 1 game. 1-2 so far, thankfully this is the last West Coast game on the trip, can't stand not being able to watch these games.

With their cap situation though it may not be possible to call both CK and JT up as Jan suggested.

I wouldn't touch Hemsky with a 10 foot pole. I do like Glencross but would Calgary make that move with MDZ nearing RFA status again?

Right, one or the other, probably Miller for now. With DZ losing value you might be able to get him straight up for Hemsky who's a UFA. He could probably help for at least the rest of this year with 15-20 goals. I think Calgary would take DZ since they would have the ability to re-sign him first. I'd like them to get someone who's signed for 2-3 more years.

I would love for Kreider to get a legit chance at some top 9 minutes without fear that a mistake will put him back in the minors. Let him go out and play.

We use to blame Luongo for all of our October beat downs, maybe we should have been blaming AV

I think with Nash out for a few games he should get a shot in his spot up top, worst case it doesn't go great and you send him back down when Nash returns.

As long as we consider ourselves contenders then we won't consider something like that. If we are scuffling at the deadline or are just plain out of it then that might be something to look at.
