At this point you have to take a risk if you want that top pairing guy. I don't think Larsson is available, Myers or Erhoff might be although is Erhoff what we need?

A team to watch is anybody except Edmonton. If Trouba continues to play well how long do they keep him, Enstrom, Byfuglien and Bogosian? Granted they don't need to do anything just yet, it would be worth the call.

The early performance by the Oilers is no surprise to me. I'd expected that to be the case, for a number of reasons, including: their lack of size on the top 2 lines, the need for at least 2 more top D and a true #1 Goalie. Add to that their relative inexperience, a new Coach & system, influx of new players, injuries to Nuge & Gags and playing Hall out of position, I predicted that the Oil would be hard-pressed to make the playoffs but would probably in the running for a lottery pick.
I've been a Fan since they entered the NHL and want new success as much as anyone. But they have short-comings and have the wrong "mix" of Assets to be successful, IMO.

Johnson has been even since he got to CBJ. To me he has the skill set we need, but there is a bit of attitude and I'm not sure if he's pass it or not. Ideally Petry takes a few pages from Johnson and uses his size and offense more.

Hey, hey, hey, no need to yell. Your suggestion that all the shots were generated by solo individual efforts is grossly exaggerated. There were a few of these, but the hall-nuge-ebs line is clicking again, shots were taken from the point, it is only 4 games in, and the lines have been juggled due to injury, plus new players like Gordon and perron will take more than 4 games to settle in with a new team, as well as a new coach. The score is a poopty indicator of how they played last night, as they let in almost as many goals as they did against Suckouver, but they played a hell of a lot better last night, than they did last Saturday.

while i haven't quite pressed the panic button, my hopes of the playoffs are gone. without an extremely bold move, they aint making it. if they can't trade one of these pint sized danglers for a real dman, then they have to simply wait for Klefbom and Nurse... which means, 2 more years of no playoffs.
