I thought Sven was playing pretty well before he sat out that game however he did turn it up a notch Saturday night and looked very good out there Maybe the coaches do know what they are doing.

Colburne also look more impressive 4th line duties do not do him justice and he needs to play top 9 minutes in order to be effective. Stajan Backlund Monahan and Colbourne all need to be in the top 3 lines not sure what is going to give here

Burke shipped Stajan out of TO, so my guess is Stajan is going to be dealt soon, then we will see someone from abby play 4rth line center.

I could see this one day but as long as we have hudler here he fits quite well .... I hope for his sake he has a good year ... The more I watch him the more impressed I am ... The only weak part to his game is his size and I find ppl who don't actually watch flames games like to trash hudler because of his contract ... Playing behind all the all stars in Detroit all those years helped him fly under the radar and also helped him become a better player .... Also porier will be on the pk so I'd rather my top line come out right after a kill to go against the other teams 3rd line with momentum ... Also with poriers speed I could see a lot of bouma blocked shots being cleared for Emile breakaways

As for keeping Hudler on that line, I think it works for this year, but if Sven developes into a playmaker, he will need a sniper to pass too. Maybe Johnny G?

I agree....the jersey's are pretty good, minus that Flaming A. It's just too big too. Take off the bold font and make it smaller as well. To me it stands out too much and is distracting.

Great game in the Dome Saturday night and I'm glad I was there to see it. Can't wait as we have a couple more exciting matchings with TO and Detroit rolling into town this week! Seems like the Dome might become a tough place to play again

Yea, certainly a possibility in the next couple of years. A good blend of play making, speed, size and grit. And a ton of hockey IQ.

Can never understand why teams make a third jersey that looks similar to the regular jersey. I didn't care for the 'horse head' logo on the old alternates but at least the makeup of the jersey was different. And enough of the old Atlanta Flames logo for the assistant captain's 'A'. It would have made a great logo for the Abbotsford Heat though.

My guess is the owners wanted more Calgary name brand, if you will...wanted to make sure the name stood out.

I had a similar argument with a friend with respect to my diabetes...I hold that they will continue to make improvements to devices/products to make living with diabetes easier on those who have it, but they arent all that interested in finding a cure for a disease which makes a crap ton of money and people live long lives with.
