Byfuglien is an interesting player.
Honestly, my answer is "I don't know."
And I say this not to duck the question--but because I really don't know how much of his "off ice" issues are "media pieces." I do not know because if this team is coming into camp out of shape (last season: Voracek & Hartnell; this season L. Schenn et. al) I do not know if introducing another player with work/conditioning issues is the answer.
That being said, I would love to have a dman who can hit the net. Haven't had that since Pronger went down. Likewise, he's a big guy who actually uses his size, and plays with a mean-streak and snarl. (Grossman has snarl, but isn't mobile enough to hit people and recover; L. Schenn showed it last season, and I think he'll be fine when he gets back into the lineup.)
I don't know. It's a ballsy offer. Wouldn't put B. Schenn in the package. Guy is still only 21-22 years old.
If it's a Coburn, Read, and picks deal for Buff, sure--I'd roll the dice. - Moose_15
Thanks good insight. Plus, although I'm not sure how much Pronger is able/wants to do, but if he could work with him a couple days per week; I cannot see how having one of the best 5 D-men of all time could hurt having in your corner.
You cannot teach size, and he is rare and relatively young enough where I hope he could still learn and retain new ideas. I think this is what the Flyers might see and why his name has been popping up in association with the Flyers.
At this point change is the only thing I see helping, we will see what happens today I guess. |

Gotta wonder where Dubnyks head is today knowing the Oilers just signed his replacement. Of course with our luck it'll probably fire him up and he'll have his best game of the season. Dammit

They still cant seem to win any battles of consequence in their own zone.

Did you see that Vinny turnover?
No hockey player, unless they're comatose, would make that pass/turn that over. That's so bad.
What is with this team? |

They continue to look lost ...
Instead of skating with aggression they look like they are skating not to make a mistake ... Gus and Vinny both losing the puck by the net and the Oilers are pouncing right on it
Way too much time spent in our zone IMO |

Aaaaaaaaaaand CLANK
This is what happens when you're slumping. You hit the post, meaty rebounds aren't stuffed home, and deflections are (frank)ing gloved
Ugh |
