Kinda like Ranger? - Byfuglien Ate Me
Seems to be doing quite alright 5 on 5, but I guess he must be a team worse since it is all his fault on every play, have to check the stats to confirm.
Well will you look at that, 2nd on the team for +/- for a defenseman at plus 5. Man that is unacceptable. |

I was playing around with him, he really did not do anything different that a lot of other posters do, no need for a ban. - LeafMan
was still funny either way |

It is a good point but when the league comes out and says zero tolerance on head shots and height is not an excuse for a head shot, they must call it. How he gets away with numerous elbows to the head and my favourite, driving his forearm to the back of the head of an opponent into the boards. - LeafMan
Yeah, elbows are garbage, and head hunting as well. But sometimes I see plays where the tall guy did nothing and the guy with all the momentum skates into his shoulder with his head. Glad I'm not a ref in this league. |

On the play on the go ahead goal, the Bruins player pushed him from behind onto Reimer, he should of had those thrusters on reverse, how dare he fall. |

When people want to praise a player that doesn't live up to his contract or underachieves, they pull out the "intangibles" card. |

Do I think Ranger could be better, of course but I don't think he is as bad as most of you are saying he is, he has become the scapegoat when most of the time he was not at fault. |

So there's really no immeasurable attribute a player can add to a team? |

Still early but after he plays twenty games, I will have a better idea if he is doing enough to help the team win. |

+/- is a dumb stat. Ranger is god awful.
My fear is that the Leafs are looking for top level talent up front, or a top 4 defenseman, but teams would be asking about Rielly or Kadri. Those are the only two players the Leafs would be absolutely insane to move. They are the first home grown talent in generations. So bring in Robidas! That would be a good move i think.
So ive come to conclusion that my road to being rich will come in the form of advanced hockey stats. Im sure theres a way to calculate the numbers to come up with a more accurate way to rate a player. Where's Lums? This might involve test tubes...
Final point. I really really really hate these 3-4-5 day waits between games! Last year was awesome because they played more often. WTF am i supposed to do when the leafs aren't playing? I blame the NHL for any substance abuse problems i may develop out of anxiety. They should shorten the season by a month but still play the same amount of games. Then drag out the playoffs a little more, people are generally happier in the spring so waiting for games isn't that big of a deal. |

I bet he would have made a better effort towards the puck then Phanuef did with the empty net, don't care how tired you are you have to make an effort, that said Phaneuf played two really good games back to back. |

Invent a way to standardize data collection through all the buildings, find a way to rate attempted shots based on how effective a scoring opportunity they were, and there you have it - advanced stats that are actually worth something and all the glory and riches that will come with it. |

...hard to tell so far.
Clarkson signing looks ugly right now, Mason's looks great.
Bernier and Bolland trades both look great, buyout of Komisarek and Grabovski over Liles looks bad.
Signing Kessel long term was important.....we'll see what happens with Dion. - Barx
i think he'll be gone. |

IDK man.. Ranger and Kostka are equally bad.. Holzer is trash tho. I wish i could see what some people see in him. I see stupid untimely penalties, no speed, not physical, out of position constantly, and an ugly face.. God i hate his ugly face. |
