Does Dave really know what he's doing or is he riding the coat-tails of Burkie again? Honest question. |

This whole Corsi and Fenwick shiit has been beaten to death already. |

Funny how I have been saying for two years now that Detroit is the worse for stats, still remember games with Lidstrom and Datsyuk making blatant giveaways and never credited with any multiple times. |

He's made his own moves so far but the team still has Burkes stamp on it. It is yet to be seen how his decisions will effect the club. |

His decisions affected the club by moves made last year, whereas Burke would have stuck by the players out of loyalty. |

...hard to tell so far.
Clarkson signing looks ugly right now, Mason's looks great.
Bernier and Bolland trades both look great, buyout of Komisarek and Grabovski over Liles looks bad.
Signing Kessel long term was important.....we'll see what happens with Dion. |

Here's how it works. Burke was great when he was in Vancity. Then he left and sucked. Then Nonis was great. Then he left and sucked. Now they both suck and Mike Gillis is great.
soon he too will suck. |

Fair enough, I just see this as Burkes team. Nonis signed Bolland and traded for Bernier, other than that the on-ice product is solely Brian Burke…no? |

Agree.
Dion will get his big contract, that D would be lost without him IMO |

As per usual, you've got it all wrong. Gillis is a knucklehead if you ask me. IMO Burke's personality rarely allows him to see his work blossom, no one (management) can stand him for more than five years. |

I forgot about Clarkson, that was a mistake IMO, not signing him but the term. Mason will flame out, but a decent player. |

Agreed. But I consider re-signs (ie: Bozak) to be Nonis' burden/player now. Along with the free agentsClarkson and Raymond. Plus trades for Bernier and Bolland. |

Burke also credits Nonis will most of the framework on the trades, Nonis had a hand in a lot of the players the Leafs got when Burke was here. |

This is definitely Burke's team but keeping in mind Nonis has only 1 off season under his belt and the players he has brought in I'd say he's off to a great start. |

Good Luck Lefty. You're dealing with a fan base that reacts like a raccoon backed into a corner by a pack of dogs.
Next will be the insults towards the Canucks, the pointing our our SC deficiencies, then the personal insults.
Happens every time. |

nonis thinking he could trade liles instead of buying him out was a mistake.
signing clarkson for all those years at that salary was a mistake.
team is still in a great spot so no need to get our knickers in a knot.
dion will be resigned. |
