Who's face do you hate more.... Matthew Barnaby or Sidney Crosby? - youarewrong
Crosby I guess but both pale in comparison to my hate for Bettman! |

Crosby. No contest. Barnaby is too busy dealing with all his legal problems for me to care about him anymore haha Was actually just sent a photoshop of crosby in a flyers uniform. My brain almost exploded from not know how to process what I was seeing. |

Heres a novel idea:
The Flyers are playing better and the younger forwards seem to be coming along nicely. While overall the D is not the quickest, they have been playing pretty well and moving the puck up both a bit faster and somewhat more accurately.
So how bout we all show some patience and see how this continues to develop over the next 20-25 games before calling for any trades? My guess is that is exactly what the Flyers mgmt will likely do. - BiggE
the main thing that bothers me just a little bit about the team is I hate seeing Berube shorten the bench and have some forwards playing 5 shifts and 3-4 minutes/game
also when the third D pair gets 12 minutes
stuff like this comes back to bite them during the long season |

because you make a trade like that if you are close to winning a cup. - nastyflyergirl
how "close" is close then? as i said, a 30+ year vet, even in their mid 30's could positively affect a rebuild or turn around for a 3 years or more! teams can transform in a matter of 18 months (look at the Flyers and Avs for two opposite examples). if we're 2 years away from being that cup contender, a good trade for an older, proven vet can still be made.

True but most of the team will get a nice 3 week break in Feb and hopefully if they keeping winning and can move up in the standings, he'll be able to roll all of his lines and D pairings on a more regular rotation. |

Bill Meltzer: Flyers Gameday: 11/15/13 @ Winnipeg - bmeltzer
Andrew Ladd without question is the most underrated player in the game NHL today, from the 2003 draft with all the big names and a player the Black Hawks should regret letting walk. He's a good two way player and much younger than Patrick Sharp. I would love to have this guy on my teak. He quietly plays a solid game year after year. If he remains with the Jets for the rest of his career as Captain, he should be looked to as one of greater Captains to Captain a Canadian team.I might be over doing it a bit but he's pretty awesome. |

Me too.. Predictions? I think they can win this. Score first, and Mason solid.. 4-2 win. Goals by G, Simmonds, Timonen and Cooter with the ENG. |

Interesting article on Pavelec as well as save percentages...
Look where we rank since the 2011-12 season...
I don't agree with the article stating that Mason doesn't seem like the solution here, as to me, he does. Again, not paying attention to the games the Flyers play, just sticking with the old Flyers lose because of bad tending.
I really believe that we've fixed that with Mason.. I've said this before, but if he keeps this up all year, I extend him on a 3 or 4 years deal.

The Hawks already won a Cup without Ladd, and are overwhelming favorites to win again this year. I think they will survive. |

Only about a 20 game sampling of Mason, but so far so good. He's got all the physical tools. I think his issues are between his ears.
Can the Flyers keep signing him to one year deals?

Haha If he's the real deal, then I'd sign him long term. Seems as though Reese has helped him a lot. |

Yup. Mason has been tremendous. I'm still worried they sign him to a long term deal and he turns into a pumpkin. |

God I really like Mason so far, but is anyone concerned that this might be the result of new conference not knowing a goalie... like Bob's first year here, then first year in Columbus...?
I dont know... All joking aside I ask myself if Edmonton give us an overpayment.... Would I take the deal. |
