Ron Hextall says he has not been contacted by #Sabres about their GM job, and adds he is extremely happy in position as #Flyers' asst. GM.

Whew, that's quite a relief to me.

Why would he want to go to Buffalo when the Flyers GM job is his in a few months.

The Hawks already won a Cup without Ladd, and are overwhelming favorites to win again this year. I think they will survive.
- PLindbergh31

I don't know if I would call the Hawks overwhelming favorite to win the Cup again this year but they certainly are a contender. I think the trade for Versteeg last night shows they would re-aquire former players from their first Cup team if they can. They only reason why they were allowed to walk or be traded were due to Cup concerns. Ladd was a UFA and walked, Sharp was under contract. If I had the make the choice, I would choose Ladd over Sharp due to age.

Speaking of Versteeg, I never understood the dislike towards him in Philly. Too blond? Too good looking? Same reasons Carter was hated?

We haven't heard trade imminent just that is possible. unfortunately it's a lefty-righty type thing that's killing him.

Too deficient of skill. He was put on the top-line and didn't produce.

On this date in 1984, the #Flyers retired Bobby Clarke’s no. 16

I never understood why hockey players play to the opposite side of their "handed". Like I'm right handed, but to a hockey player I would play with my stick to the left. I always felt more comfortable playing with my right hand on the low side of the stick.... it always gave me more puck control for stick handling and shooting accuracy...

You want your strong hand up high because much of the game is played with only one hand on the stick.

You mean if you're right handed, why is it better to play on the left side of the ice?

Well that makes sense.... But my left hand is stong because of other activities.... my right hand is more dexterous....

No Wilson got it. Its stick hand. But I still dont understand it.... I would be willing to bet that the players that play with their natural hands lower on the stick have more accurate passing and shooting skills.

I think a major part of my issue is I was a golfer at a very early age, and it felt very odd to set-up a puck opposite that was natural for a golf ball.

I know it's almost a given in Europe to play with your strong hand above your weak hand. I think once you put in the hours of practice it feels just fine. I never did it, but I can see the benefits of it.

Regarding the CoC...if I have a real rumor from a real source, but the source asked not to be named, am I still required to name the source?
- jmatchett383

The CoC addresses that. It says to contact Ek.

Apathetic to the team?

(frank) yeah I am. More so than ever, but that fire still burns somewhat. Or would taking off the orange coloured glasses and bashing them at times put me in the "bandwagon" club.

They're 6-3-1 in last 10, 3rd among the conference over the period. And it is early early. I choose to feel better than I was feeling in October.
